I suppose that True Lies is based on the movie, but I've never seen it, so I dunno. Anyway, the game reminds me of Mission Impossible for NES, but with a much more manly main character (Hell, Arnold is more manly than the 3 dudes from Mission Impossible all together), and with less puzzles and more action. I've played through the first stage, but it's improvable, especially the downhill running, http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4196/True%20Lies-cbrd.smv Can this game make an interesting TAS? I'm not sure how long this game is or anything, a FAQ claims that the game contains 9 missions, with some sub-parts, but I don't know how long the missions are, and reading the FAQ doesn't really help when trying to figure out how long each mission is. The name of the ROM I used is True Lies (U).smc.

I don't know how interesting this would be. I remember playing it quite a bit when I was younger and finding glitches... the bad kind, which made keys disappear and forced me to restart. Kinda what you'd expect- sloppy programming for a cheap game based on a movie. Without glitching the hell out of it, I think the entertainment value would be like oatmeal. Satisfying, but nothing special. Not to pooh-pooh your idea out of hand, but have you considered Soldiers of Fortune instead? Same console and genre, but has a two-player mode and some sort of shopping system (IIRC) which might make things more interesting. (Then again, if True Lies has a 2p mode that I don't remember, then I'm putting my foot in it now, aren't I? :) )

True Lies has no 2P-mode (There can only be one Arnold \o/ ) I'll check out Soldiers Of Fortune, after all, 2P-runs are more interesting.
