Famicom Grand Prix - F1 Race might make for an interesting TAS. It's a Famicom-only racing game with a top-down view and tire and brake "health" meters that eventually run out and make it very hard to brake and steer unless you come in for a pit stop. Of course, a TAS could race so fast that the meters never run out, or steer successfully even with the spent tires.

Heavy Barrel was the first game I ever tried doing a TAS on, the controls are incredibly laggy... it takes 4 frames to stop/start moving in any direction.

Lately I've been checking out Kanshaku tamanage Kantarō no Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi aka 53 Stations of the Tokaido as a possible TAS game. Here is the GameCenter CX episode devoted to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mcSzBmKuHM There are a lot of interesting things about the game engine. First, your weapon is a bomb/firework that travels in an arc, so it is harder to control than a typical platformer weapon. Secondly, the enemies actually have surprisingly good AI for a Famicom game. They actually react in an intelligent manner to your attacks and movement. I could see three different styles of TAS for this: 1 - using warps (according to the video there is both a 3-level warp and 6-level warp so luck would need to be manipulated to get the 6-level warp each time) 2 - warpless 3 - pacifist. I think this would be really fun to watch, because the enemies chase after you if you don't kill them, and a whole bunch of them swarm you at once. As I mentioned before, there is a lot of potential for manipulation of enemy movement, which would definitely be a requirement for pulling this off... if it's possible at all.

As the name implies, this is a list of games that people would like to see ran that were Famicom exclusives. As it has been said many times lately the NES library is really close to being tapped out but there is a much larger collection of Famicom games that were never released in the US that could make for a good run. My goal with this thread would be to have people with knowledge of Famicom games to put suggestions of games that they think would be good runs. If the moderators believe this thread is too similar to the NES Wishlist thread (which I disagree with because there are almost never non-NES games on that page) feel free to merge threads. Here are a few I am looking into: Tetsuwan Atom (Based on the Astro Boy anime) Yōkai Yashiki (Famicom Disk System, English name Monster Manor, looks good

Hasn't actually posted any WIPs My Astro Boy WIP up to the bells is nearly identical to his so if I do finish I would imagine mine would be around the same length as his, maybe a couple seconds ahead to optimization. I am not sure if I am going to continue it right away or put it on the back burner.

Crud... there is this Famicom game I'm remembering now, that I am now thinking would make a great TAS. I can't remember the name though and I haven't played it in years. It was a sidescroller platformer, fully written in Japanese, probably takes place in the Edo period like Goemon (but not an actual Goemon game), I remember early in the first level there is a Scarecrow NPC that you talk to on your way, you can go into stores to purchase stuff, and I think one of the next levels was a waterfall where you make your way downward through breakable blocks... craaap I'm gonna have to figure this out

A good TAS of Robocco Wars or Armadillo could be publishable. Buzz & Waldog could be good, though I guess it is technically a pirate game (and not a famicom one). The namco version of Star Wars may be more complex as a TAS than its western counterpart and so it may make for a an interesting run. Romancia may be interesting, but I haven't played it all the way through to know what the later content is like. Same goes for Wai Wai World 2 (it has a lot of autoscrolling early on as far as I remember), but both should be worth looking into. By the way, I contest the idea that NES is tapped dry. There are a bunch of games that have not been done and there is the possibility for 100%/low-glitch type runs for a whole bunch more.

I am mainly quoting what people post on all of my rejected runs. I love TASing NES games as shown by my submission history and agree there are more left. My problem is that before I started TASing I had only ever played 2 or 3 NES games, so I didn't really know what games were good and sort have just had to follow suggestions or guess and hope for the best. That is why I am trying to invigorate these suggestion threads so that we can fill out more of the runs people want to see, even if they do not want to make them.

Everything here. Bird Week Battle City 2-player PlayAround Why playaround? It was discovered that the fastest way to beat the game is to NOT shoot any enemies until they fill the screen, then grab a certain bonus to blow them all up, therefore counting as "0" kills in the results screen, saving loads of time. This is insanely boring to watch 35 times, so a playaround or some run that disregards this would be the best.

I looked through the list of Famicom exclusives and played some. Here are a few that could look nice. Wing of Madoola - It's fairly fast with some nice damage boosts. Utsurun Desu - Some funny left+right glitches. Time Zone - Fast paced and nice graphics. Magical Taruruuto-kun 2 - It's a fun platformer. Too bad it is so dialogue heavy. It only works on FCEUX 2.1.6 so far. Mottomo Abunai Deka - A run that kills a lot of enemies could be entertaining Parasol Henbee - A decent platformer with a shop to buy things. However it's all in japanese, with no translation. PaaMan Part 2 - Some nice gameplay variety, with different characters to choose from. PaaMan - Better then Part 2 but there is some boring stuff. Mappy Kids - You can keep getting roller skates to maintain a high speed. Jumpin' Kid - Jack to Mame no Ki Monogatari - Funny platformer. Journey to the West 2 - Platformer, jumping is fastest movement. Chester Field - Fast platformer, seemed straightforward. Tashiro Masashi no Princess ga Ippai - Platformer. Bio Senshi Dan - Increaser Tono Tatakai - Fun platformer. There is a (U) (Proto) version. Armadillo - Fast paced. Is the prequel of Ultraman Ball, which has a published run. Cocoron - Tanooki Teabag was working on this. Is he still around? Daiku No Gen San 2 - Sequel to Hammerin Harry. Is fairly short, with a few annoying autoscrollers near the end. Doraemon - Decent platformer. No not the unlicensed chinese game, the official J version. A Week Of Garfield - Funny platformer, getting the boot makes you go quite fast. Esper Bouken Tai - I think it's an RPG - platform hybrid. Heisei Tensai Bakabon - Humorous platformer where you fight with an umbrella. Dragon Buster - Platformer + RPG Huang Di - OK action platformer Kamen Rider Club - Gekitotsu Shocker Land - Platformer Radia Senki - Reimi Hen - RPG, english translation avaliable Great Battle Cyber - OK beat em up\platformer Spartan X 2 - Beat em up, left + right kills enemies instantly
