Well, some people accept anything from freeware games, because they think they can't be anything more then crap. Some even get awards, despite their stupidity (ballo). Anyway, I'll try to show some examples here. I really hope you know them already. also, I hope that someone add something nice too.(I mean: no stupid puzzles) I'll start with Die Slave.

TUMIKI Fighters I played this game until my eyes came close to bleeding. It's way too addictive. (linux version) Same with Little Fighter 2.

Games that don't rely on trojan-grade "copy protection".

Hmm, I'm sure everyone knows about Cave Story, so I won't even mention that. Oops.

http://www.helixgamesinc.com/gamesindex.html Jumper 2 is a crappy gamemaker game that's too freaking difficult and way too addictive for its own good. Jumper 1 is okay too. Kind of. Jumper Redux was ruined with worse collision detection and bad jumping physics.

Neverball Sorta like super monkey ball. It is hard at first but once you get the hang of it, it can be quite addicting. I finished all but the last level before I began to lose interest. Oh well.

Rather than actually doing any work, I'll just direct you at a thread for this on another board. Although I will contribute and say that Submachine is pretty good, too.

try this Aggressive sokoban (it's a platformer+sokoban) http://isolations-nest.hp.infoseek.co.jp/flash/agrsouko/index.html I just finished the easy course with a B++ rating and 52915 points. and score 27673 on hard (C rating), reaching level 2-7....

Jumper owns in ways and sucks badly in ways IMO some stages make the controls seem god-awful due to massive reflexes needed, but the gameplay is only fun when your not on your 1000th death in world #-# *cant get past world 3-6 for his life*

You guys might already know about this, but Megabot is a game quite similar to Mega Man. I find it quite hard.
