you can't rush sobriety, it just happens.. if you're gonna get drunk, what you gotta do is get meggerman drunk too, find his secrets... be like "what makes you tick? if i have an apple pie will it make you faster?" think of it that way and think "what if we got drunk on a train?" it'd totally be better on a train... lotsa crazy stuff happens on a train...

Even if you got drunk on a train, the train might make Meggerman faster! I see your point here! Plus train levels in videogames are always cool. But now I need to find a game which features apple pies as power-ups.

Kirby 64 has various foods that replenish your hp, a varieties of cakes and desserts, apple pie might be one of them.

I would guess that Final Fight has an apple pie or variant inside one of its beat-up dirty oil drums.

I see you didn't jump at the slope, and thus used the same luck-manipulation sequence as I did at the end. If it is possible (not that you want to go back now), you could get the car to shoot very early from the left, so you can jump to avoid it and land on the same platform at the edge, and jump again. I hope you're joking about the drunk part. Good job for saving 2 frames.

Luck manipulation ate the frame like it was an apple pie.

Yeah, I tried fooling around some. Thats why I have over 4000+ rerecords on only a minute or so of game length. I ended up loosing a lot of frames trying to manipulate the ship in other ways. So, I just copied your input. Atleast I got 2 frames. I'm going to work on Chill Penguin then Boomer. After that, I'll have to decide which route to use. It'll probably end up being your test run route.

Fractal, I thought your WIP was awesome. Since I have not seen DeHackEd's movie I don't know where it is that you save seconds, but it looks good nonetheless.

Here are where the time-savers occurred: Intro: - Leading with a charged shot against the bee miniboss in the intro stage, using the cars to to go forward faster, and manipulating Vile. 2 seconds Chill Penguin: - Jumping from slopes. This alone saved 2 seconds. - Better Chill Penguin fight, which saved 2 seconds. Boomer Kuwanger: - Jumping through ladders without grabbing them, and overall better jumping game. 6 seconds - Not having Homing Torpedo. -3 seconds. Sting Chameleon: - Getting past the rock monster without waiting. About 20 frames. Also charging up against Sting Chameleon, saving 5 frames. Storm Eagle: - Lag reduction and better platform management. 1 second. - Having Chameleon Sting. 5 seconds. Spark Mandrill: - Jumping through ladders without grabbing them. Maybe 1 or 2 seconds. - Better miniboss fight. 3 seconds. Armored Armadillo: - Lag reduction. 1 second. Launch Octopus: - Better miniboss fights. Using Chameleon Sting on the subs and a combination of Boomerang Cutter and Storm Tornado on the serpent. 2 seconds.

How's the run going, OgreSlayeR? I found out today that there is random lag on every boss explosion. When I destroyed Boomer Kuwanger, I lost frames to the published run, but gained 23 frames back by delivering the hit one frame later. So you should check every boss explosion. As for my progress, I gained 2 seconds in Flame Mammoth (the normal route is faster). I gained almost 7 seconds so far in Sigma 1, and I'm not even done the stage yet.

I remember the slowness of the alternaroute in Flame Mammoth was a tradeoff for entertainment. But since you are going for frame perfection that is understandable.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

I've been kind of busy, and when I'm not busy, I'm slacking off heh. It'll get done though. I keep loosing 1 frame maybe due to fade out lag after the intro. I'll continue to work on it later, and if I can't get that 1 frame, I'll just continue on and work on Chill Penguin I guess.

I didn't think for once that it would be an intentional tradeoff. Also, I did trade off 3 frames of lag to get the Boomerang Cutter to circle X during the boss explosion. 3 frames is nothing, considering I could have lost 23.

For the update, I saved 9.5 seconds on Sigma 1 and 3.5 seconds on Sigma 2. I have just beaten Sting Chameleon again and I saved another 3 seconds. I can't save much more anymore. I need to save 137 more frames to pass 30:00. It's so close that I don't even want to guess. Edit: I meant 30:00 as in 30 minutes movie length. Maybe I should have said "beat 30:00" instead of "pass 30:00".

Just when I thought I couldn't get more, I ended up gaining 35 frames just before Launch Octopus. Spark Mandrill charges forward, lag reduction underwater. 102 to go. There is one more lag reduction part (between Octopus and Mammoth) and I hope to save 1 second at D-Rex by hitting twice with two charged shots. Also, I expect to save some time at Velguader and try charged shots against Sigma. That's about it.

I've been pretty busy lately (actually, throughout the whole run), so don't expect submission this week. I'm currently at D-Rex and I need only 24 more frames to beat 30:00. Technically, I am already under half an hour but it won't show up until I save those 24 frames. If D-Rex had magically destroyed X's charge ability at this point, things would be very simple. But it didn't, so it's not. I also need at least one day to write up the submission text.
