This is not a question or something like that, I just wanted to write down some words here :> I've watched almost every timeattacks u can find at this site and I think they are great. I knew I were pretty good at megaman 2. I've never used bugs and stuff to complete the game faster. I just play through the game normal, and I know where every enemy is and what kind of enemies there are. But when i saw the timeattack from morimoto I never thought about to do a timeattack at it :D So now I know that I don't got a chance to beat it faster than him... Maybe if I knew all the bugs and glitches but i just prefer to watch the timeattacks, I hate to compete ;>

I'm pretty good at timeattacking for real. I've just always played games and it's come naturally... Some of the time people have done on some games though are quite amazing, like the Mario64 26min vid, and it can be clearly beaten to! It's pretty impressive, the power of gamer's lately... - Volkov

Yeah I've seen the Mario64 and it was fantastic! Except that he failed to jump backwards up the stairs sometimes, but he really did some moves I never have seen before, it was really entertaining.

This Mario 64 run, where did you find it? I'd be glad to see it!

Well...I've done speedruns on mario64, and the backwards jump thing CAN be hard, and he stuffed a lot of jumps here and there which just cost him time generally, still amazing effort, i didnt think sub30 was so easy, and by quite a bit too, well for the person above who wanted the link: http://www.planetquake.com/sda/other/mario64.html - Volkov

I've seen runs for individual stars, but not the entire game. Does it use the "long jump backwards up the stairs" trick to beat the game with only 31 stars?

I've studied the vid.... Yes, of course he uses the long jump backwards to finish the game in...16 stars! 31 stars plus three bowsers in 26 minutes is a bit unlickely to me ;) Anyways, the glitch is using MIP (the rabbit in the basement (who appears after you're 15th star) and then using him to glitch through a door you should not be able to enter until, 30 stars... Then the 16th star is obviously the star to make the 2nd boweser level appear, get the key and head to the top to do the 2 glitches to enter the 3rd boweser level. I'd say the overall gameplay is quite good, he knows what he's doing. But i have to say he could do better, much better, if he were to really practice every move:P But, it's a pretty hard game at times, so I give him a lot of respect... anyways, I gots to sleep, I just finished watching the aLttP video...almost flawless, very good watch! - Volkov

I have a time of 26:49 for the 16 star collection for Mario 64, which is in PAL. Since the 16 star vid you've been watching is in NTSC, that makes my time better by several minutes (or so I think). Brad Cutler himself admitted that he learnt lots of extra new tricks after making his run, but he didn't want do to it again. So his Mario 64 run can be improved by about 4 minutes, if not more. Pier-Yves Lemire is also attempting to do an NTSC run, and he knows pretty much everything I know, so you can expect it to be very good when he finishes it (perhaps under 23 minutes). I've put my lower bound so far to be 25 minutes flat in PAL-speak (which should be around 21 minutes in NTSC), which I am still very far from.. but those glitches are kinda annoying to do first try =( Once I borrow a capture card from a friend of mine, I'll try making a movie for it.

Yes, yes, I read about the 16-star trick right after I posted that message since I started browsing the user pages.
