What's a mega turbo? Is that a cheat/hack to make the game be even faster than it's supposed to be?
When you see the Capcom logo at the start of the game, press Down, R, Up, L, Y, B on controller 2. Let's you have even more stars than 4, all the way up to 10.

Pretty nice, Frenom. I enjoyed your landing inside Dhalsim's Yoga Flame. Of course, there's still room for improvement, particularly on the bonus stages. Do you plan on continuing on this, or will you go back to Super Metroid?
Ill see what I can do later. :P

Haha, cool ok. I couldn't get the code to work for a quite a while, dunno why. But I made a video now. http://www.geocities.com/spenev/Street_Fighter_2_Turbo.zip (it's 6kb.. clicking on this link won't work because geocities is gay, you have to copy+paste it instead) Comments: rom: SF2 Turbo, US version mode: lv8 difficulty (max) with 10-star turbo (max), but played in 35 skips. It's overall 10-15 minutes long. This was supposed to be for speed, but it got a bit boring.. it's very hard to do fights differently, since Ken doesn't have all that many moves. You can tell what my favourite finishing move is since I used it most of the time. Most of the fights average about 85 on the clock. Near the end I started doing fights more funny, trying to win in different combos, and not so much for time. You'll see what I mean =) That was fun. EDIT by Bisqwit: No ROM links. Read the forum rules.

Come on Alex, you don't know the 10-star code for SFII Turbo ;P ? Yeah it's a little bit tricky do enter it correctly. I somehow like this SF SNES-game the most. Your video is indeed very funny to watch, mainly because it's so fast. Who wants to watch it now, prepare for the last 2 bonuses(especially the last bonus) and of course Vegas 2nd round (I laughed my ass off ;P).... And now someone should try other characters! After watching so many Ryu and Ken videos I think I now know what are their specials ;)...

Yeah, I see it. Did you win the final round with only Light Attacks? BTW, you can save a lot of time by skipping some the incidentals. Holding down any button will speed up the score count at the end of each round. Likewise, pressing a button will skip the pre-fight VS screen and speed up the post-fight taunting.

Yes, I used light attacks on Bison (round 2). I heard a friend on mine beat the arcade version without getting hurt and using only the light punch button (with Ken). Not sure about the not getting hurt part, but it still sounds cool (and time consuming). Burning: for most/all of the characters you have to hold down a button for at least a second or two to do their special move, which makes it a bit hard to do a vid for time! Ken/Ryu's attacks are instant (except I forgot how to do the yellow hadoken, I think you have to hold a button for that?).

This does not exist AFAIK. I only know of the blue and red fireballs, and they are the same gameplay-wise...the red one is just a random graphical glitch. They made it into its own separate move for Ryu in Super, and he's kept in in almost every SF since. -Josh

Yes, I mean the red one. Sorry I didn't know it was a graphical glitch. It's just that sometimes I've done it by accident, and the opponent has done it against me (usuallu Ken, I don't remember Ryu doing it) so I thought it may have been a special hadoken that was part of the game.

Will there be any newer release run of this game? To bad to see it canceled.

I can manage to do the timeattack with zangief and also with dalshim, of course with tool assisted spedruns... on lvl7 you should also try timeattacks with only one battle, I saw a timeattack with ryu finish one battle vs m.bison on lvl7 in only 6 sec on SF2-world warrior. The guy used only three punches. And there is another one with zangief who has beaten vega in just 14 sec on lvl7 the absolute record is 5 seconds, which was achieved on SNES console on SF2Turbo with Ken beating balrog on lvl7

Fighting game timeattacks are a pretty lame idea IMO. The best way to do it would be to show off various difficult combos and glitches, but there are already a huge number of combo and glitch compilation videos around the net. Doing a single match would be alright, I guess, but a full-game run would get highly repetitive. -Josh

how to transfer video from VHS to computer, then I could send you those clips... You see on british TV once was a show, called gamesworld. I used to record it every day. on monday were qualifications, five competitors challenge against each other in differerent games mostly on SNES and Genesis and Neogeo at the time. On tuesday were reviews of games. On wednesday were timeattacks. on thursday were news of new games and solutions. on Friday were grand finals with winner from monday, who competed against ultimate challengers like big boy barry, executioner, Game messiah, Mr. Maithers the megabyte millionaire, and so on. the show was on from 1991-1993. Of course here are new shows now, as everywhere else on the world.

You would need a TV-card to capture from VHS to computer. They aren't that expensive really. Could buy a Pinnacle PCTV Rave or something for just like £31.

Well, I was proven wrong about fighting-game runs not working. Terimakasih, your SF2 Turbo movie was fantastic and I think you should submit it here. Do you play Street Fighter in tournaments at all? You have a very good knowledge of how to use all of Zangief's moves, which is why I am asking; I use Zangief in SF2 tournaments myself, and I never knew about some of the things you showed. Great job! -Josh

Oh please do share this movie. Zangief was always viewed as the hard character to win with back "in the day."

feitclub: Depends on where you were at and what game you're talking about. Gief was #3 in WW, not that good in CE, very good in HF, not good in Super unless you used that stupid magic throw glitch, and arguably the worst character in ST. And note that the movie is far from being as fast as possible. It's an aesthetic run, as he uses a wide variety of tick throws, combos, and strange properties of the game. It's much better to watch this way IMO. -Josh

I'm not sure I'm supposed to do this without permission. But it can't hurt, can it? http://highness.no-ip.com/ST2Turbo.zip Just in case the original link doesn't work.
