Nice! 2 questions: -Is it possible for the Thwomp to not ask "Are you sure?" for all 5 questions during the quiz? -What happens if you swap to goombella as you exit Petalburg? Would koop's girlfriend still strike you?

I believe he always asks "Are you sure?" on questions 1 and 5.

Unreal has it right. The only times you can manipulate him (through wasting frames) to not ask "Are you sure?" is on questions 2-4.

Since the game thinks you only have Goombella, it won't let you switch to her in the partners menu. It's not known whether that would even allow skipping the Koopie Koo cutscene, as it can't be tested. For now, though, there's no known way to skip that cutscene.

Link to video This is what happens when you enter a pipe on the same frame that Koops hits a blue block. Bad things... I thought this would be a timesaver if we came up to the top of the pipe on time lol.

Hey Malleoz, I found a small timesaver in chapter 3 for the Grubba bookcase trick. There is no need to to spin jump to get on top of the bookcase. The angle seems to be pretty precise since I have only gotten it once and it caught me off guard when I did get it.

I actually knew there was no need to do a spin jump. I think it helps to clip up, but it's not necessary, so that's why most people do it. Thank you though :P

Bad news guys... Link to video I'll be testing out some other revisions since this run also syncs on 4.0.2 and may fix the issue.

It does sound like that. Since it is fixed in the latest master branch, I'll just play the recording back on a newer revision and as long as it syncs I am good to go! :D Thank you very much. EDIT: Yup! It syncs on 4.0.2

Actually... 4.0.2 was released well before that bug was fixed. However, it was also released before the revision claimed in that link to have caused it in the first place, so it might work for you.

I actually decided to switch to 4.0-1478 which is much more recent. This still fixes the problem though.

Just as a small update. I'm currently at the 10 Jabbi fight. I will remain here for a week or two because I don't have a lot of time to work on it, and the fact that it is entirely RNG reliant doesn't help much either. There's a potential to save some time in this fight from my old run, so we'll see!

1. How's it going? 2. I was wondering what potential timesavers can occur for chapters 4, 7 and/or 8 by reactivating the previous chapters? I'm not sure if there's any chance of doing that again for chapter 2, but since parts of chapter 5 was skipped, maybe reactivating it or chapter 6 would mess up the chapter 7/8?

That sounds like the route of PM64 RTA.

Malleo has lost motivation for this at the moment due to having to deal with a desync that occurred in the middle of the run when changing from 4.0-926 to 4.0-1478 and the inevitable re-manipulation of Jabbi fights and other luck-based events. He's also busy with other things in his life right now. My guess is that the improvement run won't be finished this year.

I hope he will find the motivation, it is for this game or another. Good luck Malleo!

Some questions on a 100%: *Any badges dropped by npcs that would be faster to obtain as a drop rather than whereever it may appear otherwise? *Is it possible to just mix a "Mystery" for pretty much all recipes, including ones that require more than 1 ingredient? *I know in a normal run, getting maxed levels would be insane, but in a TAS, could this be considered since it's possible to manipulate amazee-dazees on every encounter? **Speaking of which, how many amazees can appear in 1 battle? Is the amount the same for pit of 100 trails? **Also do they always give more than 1 xp, or would eventually you reach far too high levels to get more than 1 xp per kill? *Is it possible to somehow skip parts of chapter 5, yet still get the star for it using the early keyhaul glitch? **Is it possible to activate chapter 6, get Cortez's tattle from the trash, then go back and get the chapter 5 star? *Other than the normal all stat screen, collection screen, etc, what other sidequests are needed for a 100%?

Amazy Dayzees do not appear in every encounter. They only appear at two points in the game. One is randomly between floors 91-99 in the Pit of 100 trials, the other is the forest in Chapter 4. So you could only manipulate encountering them at that part more often, not manipulate them in every fight.

The fights in Chapter 4 are always 2 Crazy Dayzees and 1 Amazy Dayzee. Either one or two Amazy Dayzees can be found in the Pit of 100 trials, but considering the amount of time it takes to get that deep it is probably not worth doing.

It takes very long to level up, but I believe you still get something like 2 star points for each killed Amazy Dayzee at level 98. But I am not sure on this. To be honest, I don't think reaching maximum level should be a part of a 100% run. Just get all the badges in the game at least once and complete all the requests in the Trouble Center. To be honest, this isn't the most fun game to watch 100%. Having to get all the recipes or leveling up just gets boring. But that's my take on it.

Er...yea poor wording. That's what I meant by "every encounter" as in seeing them every single time at those locations. Also, it's 100%, it's a vaultable category, so might as well be completionist. :P

It's a good a idea to get to level 40 to unlock the best stage, but level 99 sounds too much. http://www.gamefaqs.com/gamecube/920182-paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door/answers/82969-the-maximum-level-99 This page can serve as a reference.

I wouldn't mind seeing the recipes in a 100%, but please don't include max level. That's never a good idea for RPGs.

Just a minor point, but that best stage, Superstar rank, is at level 30 rather than 40. I could not say for sure, but I'd imagine Pit of 100 trials plus manipulating the max number of encounters with Amazy Dayzees in the pit and in the twillight woods would all but get level 30/max rank. I'd be really interested in seeing the ingredient route for recipes when combined with going through the game, and would be disappointed to see it left out if a run of this type was ever made.
