You can't use Cheat Engine to check the game code. Cheat Engine will disassemble the Emulator code, which doesn't help you really. A Debug version of Dolphin could help figuring out stuff (I used it for RNG and so on).
Warning: Might glitch to credits I will finish this ACE soon as possible (or will I?)

Finally, a glitch that takes advantage of the characters being stored under the map! It'll be cool to see this implemented whenever the next TAS is made (though hopefully Riddle Tower Skip and the other theoretical skips will be figured out too by then).

I'm going to work on this as a side project to Luigi's Mansion. Progress will be slow most likely. I have to redo it from the beginning because I have too many fright masks now since I skip an ember fight. Might also be able to use FO duping somewhere in the route!

Paper Mario TTYD is done yet again. Encoding once I get my video card back from an RMA. It will be submitted some time late September/October.

Hey, since on twitter you mentioned about widescreen hack deyncing, I asked about it, and this is the reply: 418357
AR codes change the game's code, so it makes sense that they cause desyncs. Dolphin's widescreen hack should be sync compatible unless the game does something weird, but the result will of course not be as good.
Seems like your AR code to show more of the game messes with the settings, so you should find another way to show the cut off screen.

Hello i have just got into Speedrunning a few months ago.Well ive been wanting to let all the speedruners know a glitch for Paper mario TTYD i found at a young age.At the time i did not know what speedrunning was or glitches. But i was at the Puini Tree i was at the part when there was a bomb and you had a certent amount of time to get to the start/entrance of the Puni Tree. Well i was just walking for a bit trying to get back before the time ends and then i just fell.It was like i fell into a trap door then i was in a room that was very small and i was just very confused.so i just jumped a few times then fell even more. Then after i fell even more i was at the start of the puni tree where i was supposed to go.Hopefully this makes sence if someone can plz redicover this glitch send me a message thanks.

It doesn't work like that.

Pausing while jumping can allow for a Hyper Jump. If you use an item when the game registers Mario on the ground, Mario will shoot up in the air 60 units high, which is higher than a regular jump.
I got some ideas for this: 1. Can it be used for that spike room in the last chapter? Or will you still be invincible during the "use item" animation? 2. Can you move using this glitch? Or only go straight up? 3. Can this be combined with that double jump to skip 2 Riverside Goombas?

Link to video Half of the tricks in this game are in this one room... This should be faster assuming you can avoid the Yux after you come out the pipe.

You can't move while the jump occurs, so it's of no use at the moment.

Oh. Can you enter a battle during a hyper jump? If you can, then get into a battle at the top of a hyper jump then jump again to skip 2 goombas.

No because you are in a state of using an item when doing the jump.

This has nothing to do with the TAS, but do amazy daisies always give more than 1 XP, or do they eventually give only 1 like almost everything else after you reach a high enough level?

Amazy Dayzees end up giving 1 Star Point when you reach a high enough level. At later levels it should be quicker to fight weaker enemies since you get 1 Star Point minimum for finishing a battle at levels below 99.

The TTYD community has long wanted Palace Skip and Pole Skip. Either one of these tricks would save a ton of time, though Palace Skip would save a bit more. Palace Skip is theoretically possible because underneath the room before Gloomtail, the loading zone for the room with the key to Grodus's lair is actually loaded, even though the rest of the room isn't loaded. This can be used to skip not only the Riddle Tower, but (in the best case scenario) also the pole room. Because we skip the pole room, we don't need Ultra Boots. Because we don't need Ultra Boots, we don't need to go to Chapter 6. Because we don't go to Chapter 6 we don't need Vivian for the Excess Express. Because we don't need Vivian, we don't need to complete Chapter 4. Because we don't need to complete Chapter 4, we don't need tube mode. See the point? This would skip a lot of stuff, approximately 1hr 30 mins in savings. The route would be Prologue, CH1, CH2 up until Super Boots (for Teleporter Room Early), CH7, CH8. But, we don't know if it is possible to skip the Palace without Ultra Boots. Say Ultra Boots is required to perform the skip, and we would only save approximately 30mins. Say it requires Vivian, and we would save about 1hr. We're not quite sure what the conditions of this trick would be, but either way it's a huge timesave. Alternatively, Pole Skip is theoretically a way to skip just the pole room in Chapter 8, which is the last room that requires Ultra Boots. If this was able to be skipped, we wouldn't have to go to Chapters 4 nor 6 for the same reasons as Palace Skip. This would save 30mins. We were wondering if any more people would be interested in glitch hunting for these tricks that is on these forums because of how tough this glitch is to find. Let me know if you'd be able to help. It's appreciated a ton.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGUHtqRj39Y Over here, it says:
*Doesn't actually skip Chapter 6 since we can't do TRE on English ;( By pausing and jumping in tube mode simultaneously while underneath the spikes, you can use an item while flying upwards. And by staying on the seam, your partner will fall OoB when you unpause, which will delay eating the item. This leads to the spikes sending you in the wrong direction! SolidifiedGaming found the spike redirect glitch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9UAE...), and it works differently between versions. On JP, you will move downwards instead of right, so this trick is impossible. Because the distance you move is equivalent to how far you should be moving left, you go too far down and fall OoB.
I know it's not very useful right now, but hope something comes out of it.

Forgot to post here, sorry! Yes, we are very close. We are now out of bounds. The only thing stopping us is the fact that we haven't found a way to reach the loading zone below that would allow us to get the key and enter Grodus's lair. We're still thinking and I am 75% sure we will be able to perform palace skip with this glitch.
