Here is my first TAS. It's the bosses in Wily Stage 3, made for entertainment and showing off glitches. The video quality is bad, but I hope you folks can enjoy it. =)

Oh ****!!! That is pretty tight! I didn't know that you could shoot Dust Crusher so many times in a row even with the particles still on screen! I learned a lot of stuff in this movie that I never knew before!

That's why you should always be nice to n00bs. =) Anyway, I'll explain the glitches/tricks here. Toad Man: The Rain Flush switch is simply when you use Rain Flush while Toad Man does his as well. It can also be done vice versa with Toad Man using his first. Dive Man: Nothing special here, just being silly with Dive and Skull. =) Skull Man: The Skull Breaker (as I call it), works with Toad Man's weapon. It removes the shield and Skull Man acts as if he still had it, and in the video's case, I manipulated getting Skull Man to use it for a long while so I can multi-shoot him so many times. In a Speedrun, I'm not sure how viable this is since switching weapons to and from, as well as using Rain Flush takes up precious frames. Ring Man: The Pause trick is done simply by holding B when you unpause, which is charging up Pharaoh Shot. It works with all bosses, and enemies that Pharaoh works on, but I did it on Ring Man since that's his weakness. Drill Man: Nothing special, just showing off that Rain Flush can hit Drill Man while underground. Again, I am almost positive that won't be faster in a Speedrun. Bright Man: More tricks. Using the Balloon, you can slide on it like normal, but in combination with Bright Man's Stopper, you can stay like that without falling. Other tricks can be done with Rush Jet, Wire, and possibly Rush Coil. Also, the Bright attack at the end is entirely pseudo; I did it on the frames where Bright Man stands still for comedic and entertaining effect. Dust Man: Originally, I thought you could kill Ring Man with Wire, but he doesn't stay in the air quite long enough. Dust Man however cannot hurt you if you use Wire in the middle of the stage, and then you just play the waiting game. More tricks using Rush Jet, and due to Dust Man using his sucking attack, you can move at faster speeds, fast enough to get the health bonus while dying. I didn't test doing this over the warp to the main room, which could possibly spark some pretty results. Pharaoh Man: I originally had a plan and a run for him, but he's the most boring boss, and Bright Man's Stopper isn't that great to watch, so I decided to leave him out, and have a surprise ending instead. I couldn't find anything neat about Pharaoh Man or any glitches with him either. I hope you enjoyed my first TAS. =)

Maybe in a Rockman Complete Works 4 run? :)

Hah, very nice! You have a good eye for entertainment. Well done. I think my favorite bits were nullifying Dive Man's missiles and the waiting game with Skull Man.

Here are some more tricks and glitches, as well as a fun boss battle at the end. It's just a side video, while I work on something bigger. Hope you enjoy it. =)

I was doing some tests and I've found out that 6 of the 8 stages can be beaten without pressing the A button. Toad Man: Rush Coil is your friend, and there are no awkward obstacles or anything, but the snail mini-bosses are difficult to deal with with Rush Coil. Toad Man is also the easiest stage without any extra weapons, plus you get Rush Marine. Dust Man: Another stage that can be beaten moderately easy (considering the challenge). There is one difficult part; near the fourth section of shootable blocks, you have to use Rush Coil to hit one of the blocks in the third (I think it's the third one) row from the top as the ceiling is coming down to create a sideways L shaped hole, so when you go running across, you have a safety spot. There's no other way to do that section. Also, Dust Man is somewhat easier if you grab an Energy Tank from Fliptop. Rain Flush is also handy to have when you're going across the rooms with all those flying red baddies. Drill Man: After the screens with the spikes comes a staircase that looks impossible to reach the ladder since Rush doesn't fit unless you use it from the step below. But, if you have a baddie hit you when you're on the top step, you can have Rush warp to you and allow you to climb the ladder. The next hardest part is the final jump. You have to use Rush and get hit by the stuff that drops out of those holes (I call them rocks), knocking you off the edge where Rush warps and boosts you. Drill Man is also hard to beat without Energy Tanks, but there's one midway in the level. Dive Man: There's one place where you have to slide to get to, but Rush Marine can get you past there. The next tricky part is when you're on the ladder and there's a gap, you have to use Rush Jet from the ladder at the appropriate height, jump on him, pull back and lift up. Rush Marine takes care of the water areas. Wire is also necessary for a later level. Dive Man is tough without being able to jump, but Dust hits him for 3 damage, and you can get an Energy Tank. Skull Man: This one is fairly easy, but you need to do multiple bosses first due to one of the early rooms. The room with the first bone throwing enemy has no room for Rush and you need to use Wire to get up from there. The rest is easy, especially with Dust Man's weapon. Pharaoh Man: This is tricky. Rush Jet doesn't work on quicksand, so you have to walk up to the edge of the starting platform, use it behind you, let the green (scorpion?) monster hit you so Jet will warp. Then when it's touching you, you have to go down into the quicksand with it while holding down. Eventually it'll catch up to you and you can hover across. It's also possible to get Balloon here. The stage is pretty rough, but with Wire, Balloon, Rush Coil and Rush Jet, your sources are plentiful. Ring Man: So close. I actually am able to do this with just Rain Flush and Rush Coil, but it's extremely difficult to say the least. First off you have four mini-bosses (although Rain Flush helps), and the platforms that shrink towards you (the brown ones) require a tricky jump. To get across them, you need to use Rush at the edge of the beginning of one so you get height before it starts, you run as far as possible, summon Rush Coil again, fall, and jump back up before it closes. You have to do this a few times. Of course Rush Jet can work too. The problem is that at the very end you need to slide. Bright Man: This stage cuts you off early. You don't get very far before you come across a point where you have to slide. Otherwise, it's not that bad. I did a test-TAS of a few levels and I think even if I prettied it up it's not that great to watch, but in the case that anyone wants to challenge themselves, well there you go. I'm going to move on to another game now and tear something new up. I think I've dug as deep as I can with Mega Man 4, but I would love to see any new glitches players find.[/b]

Was this what you were trying to private-message me about in the IRC channel? I saw your messages a couple of times, but when I tried to reply, I got "No such nick/channel"!

Unfortunately, while I was working on the second half of Dust Man's Stage, I accidentally overwrote it with a blank file and I didn't have any backups, so I'm likely not going do the other stages. T_T But if someone found a way to make a full-game possible, I would work on that. Sorry to disappoint.

Guys! I finally have an improved stage of Skull Man with Rush Jet!!! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/574073764/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%204%20%28U%29-stage07improved.fm2 This time I discovered something new: While doing the Rush Jet zipping thing you zip 16 pixels and it is every 3-5 frames (ignoring lag) if you're just holding up and right, but you can zip 16 pixels every 2 frames if you press up and right on particular frames!

This is some FinalFighter stuff right here. One of these days you should just go and ask your mother if she knew a Japanese exchange student who visited your country some time before you were born. In other news, this might be useful.

Useful, yet already known. It's also in our wip I think. Edit: I mention it in this post, about 5 months ago at point 1). Point 2) btw mentions changing the boss order in order to be able to abuse rushjet at the Skullman stage, which is demonstrated in the movie GlitchMan just posted.

Does that mean you would use DiveMan's secondary weakness to Dust Crusher?

http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/m4c4r3.fcm http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/m4c4r3.avi Advancing became possible only with the RushJet in Dr.COSSACK STAGE4. :) 1:MegaMan is buried on the wall while lowering the rush jet. 2:He is at a position that is 1block higher than usually. 3:You act by spending the invincibility time like seeing a right edge in the wall. 4:It succeeds in the limit. >GlitchMan Your WIP is very nice. It is effective to push each the number of frames.

Ah, I just talked to Baxter in IRC, who says that rather than moving SkullMan to after DrillMan as I thought, the plan is to move DrillMan to between BrightMan and RingMan and defeat him with Pharaoh Shot. I suppose if that works better...

Very nice. Is Rush Jet as influential in other stages, too?
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

If this trick works in Ring Man, then our suggested new route will definitely be faster. Cause then you dont need Balloon to get out of the wall after the second giant enemy.

Of course it can! :D It can be used in Bright, Ring, Dust, Dive, and Skull Man's stages. Also, it can be used in numerous Dr. Cossack stages, especially the 4th one. Awesome demonstration finalfighter! :) You proved that the double weapon switch to the Balloon AND the Mega Buster isn't necessary and you can keep it on Rush Jet which gives more opportunities for the Rush Jet zipping glitch. Then you could probably use it in many Dr. Wily stages too. I'm kind of iffy about 3 and 4 though as there aren't very many good spots to do the Rush Jet glitch. In terms of boss weaknesses, I think it would be faster to beat Pharaoh Man with his own weapon. A charged Pharaoh Shot against him does 3 damage (I saw it myself)! It's the same amount of damage as the charged Mega Buster shot. Thanks to the Pharaoh Shot glitch, there might be a faster way to beat him!
