I really enjoy all the TASes that all of you post, and someday I want to make one of my own. Unfortunately I don't have any idea of how to make a TAS. What should I equip myself with before I try a TAS? Are there any programs I should download to work with my emulator? Are there any subjects I should study up on before trying? And where can I find (well organized) info on things like luck manipulation and memory watch? (The game I have in mind to try and TAS is a Genesis game.)

Check out the FAQs, then come back and ask again with a few more specific questions. TASing as a concept is just too big to try and explain where to start in just a single post.

What do you mean? It seems totally simple to me. You just record a movie in an emulator, except you load saves and slow down the game to cheat it up.

He also asked about memory watch, so that automatically makes things complex. Also, I think that understanding of TASing increases linearly with post count, so you have a 1,562 times greater knowledge than jtay ;)
