I exported a .avi file using the x264 codec and attempted to put it into Windows Movie maker and it said it couldn't understand the codec. I then tried using VirtualDub and it shut down. I burnt it onto a CD and put it on my mac and ran it using iMovie and it only played the sound. Can anyone relate to this problem or am I doing something wrong?

How is this a Mupen64 question? You posted it in the Mupen64 emulator discussion forum.

This isn't a mupen64 question in any way, but I shall answer it for your benefit. In future, please check where you're posting things (even if your movie is infact from mupen, the question itself is nothing to do with it). x264 is an encoder, NOT a decoder. To decode h264, you need something else such as ffdshow. Then things should work properly.

I couldn't think of a more appropriate place for this situation. I used mupen to export my video so I figured I'd give this a shot. Sorry bout that.

Probably wrong to ask this question in this topic, but I didnt want to make a new one; when encoding with x.264 lossless setting in mupen, why do my videos look like this? When I encode with any of the other settings or other codecs, it's fine, it's just that one that gives me the problem. Any ideas?

Your decoder isn't decoding properly. Or you picked wierd encoding options. or both.

If you're using vista, make sure you have SP1.
