Just throwing this out there: What would be the best way to do a TAS of NBA Jam? I was thinking that like other games you can still go for fastest time. How exactly would you manage this? Fairly simple: Every time someone scores a goal, the game is delayed. So the fastest way to beat it would be to avoid either team scoring any goals at all. That means a full game with a score of 2-0 or 3-0 with the final shot being scored as close to the buzzer as possible. As per basketball rules, a shot fired after the buzzer still counts as a goal, so you want it to be as exact as you can. Too early and the game is halted. Too late and you continue past the clock for a second or two. Now, it would normally be boring to see four quarters with no goals, but since all you have to do is avoid getting actual baskets (and avoid lag) there's all kinds of tricks you can play around with. Maybe luck manipulate the computer players to take lots of missing shots? Or possibly luck manipulate the announcer to say the same thing over and over again. Maybe there are some glitches to exploit. I'd say there are a lot of possibilities here. What do you think? Would this work?

Could be entertaining if you bring variety to it. Example: 1) Missed shot attempt 2) Blotched dunk 3) Give your opponent the ball (bad pass) 4) Steal it back 5) Hold onto the ball, get robbed 6) Reject opponent's shot Not much else you can do but mix these up or do shot-passes and figure 8s with the player dribbling. I don't see much potential in it, would still be interested in whatever can be produced.

What is the point of TAS'ing this game anyway?! There's ~28 NBA teams to go after, so are you trying to aim for fastest time?! Based on everything vykan12 said, are you trying to throw in a lot of speed/entertainment tradeoffs anyway?! Another thing that gets me is programming passwords. There is a good chance that everytime you enter initials, you have to enter the passwords that the game gives you. I don't think this will do that to you in T.E.

I obviously didn't intend an entire season. Just one game. Are there any known glitches that can be exploited?

I know you can score a dunk with 0.0 left, have it count and the game ends. I'd be interested to see how much you could run up the injury. Would be funny to see someone play with such a high injury that all their stats are equivalent to 1. I've never really heard of or seen any glitches.
