I may have found a new way to Glitch somehow.. When you use RushCoil, and take a hit at the same time, your still on top of the rushcoil while in the "Im taking hit" action. Im going to fool around with this a bit.

Ok.. Since Angerfist is keeping the viewers informed of how he is doing i shall do the same. I made a first attempt at doing Geminiman stage and was sucessful anough to make the full stage 214 frames faster then Kopernical. Then, DeHackEd made a dual movie showing Mine and Kopernicals run side by side and i noticed that he started to catch up to me in some places, so i had to check that out. I was right, my run could be improved. Right now i have Geminiman battle half done and im 67 frames ahead my old run. I think that is all that will get improved, making me a total 281 frames ahead kopernical in the Geminiman stage. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/96/Rockman3-Gemini.fcm Watch and see how i done it :)

Just watched your .fcm Vatchern, and so far it's looking really good. I have two questions though: 1. If you took the time to redo your run, couldn't you have changed ROM to Mega Man 3 (U) [!].nes? Or is there a reason that you're still using the ROM Rockman 3 - Dr. Wily no Saigo! (J) [o1].nes? Perhaps there isn't any real differences between the two ROM:s.... I've tried playing the movie on the ROM Mega Man 3 (U) [!].nes and it doesn't work. Maybe it's possible to change the .fcm a little to make it possible to play it on the ROM Mega Man 3 (U) [!].nes by adding a certain amount of null-frames in the beginning. 2. How do you do the swift movement when you're hit by the enemy around frame 2630? In general, your run is looking really great, keep up the good work Vatchern! :)

Randil: The hit around 2630 was explained earlier on in this thread. But the way it works is that, if you play the game really slow, you can see that after that slide before i take the hit that megaman's head is in the wall(or the bubble). That way, taking a hit to go into the (ouch i got hit) animation, makes him zip through the wall.

Can you give us a status update on this project, Vatchern? A new WIP would be welcome too. :)

Status update and Announcement: My free time is cut in half, and i can only work on rockman3 on weekends. I plan on completing 2 levels per day on weekends. Im redueing my Geminiman fight and some of the level. My Needleman stage cant be any faster i dont think, unless i can find a way to reduce some lag. My idea, is switching to Geminilaser right away to stop from getting shot lag. And i think the Needleman fight is sloppy as well. And then snakeman. still not sure on the huge snake thingy. But ill worry about that when i get there on my update version. My version now is 357 frames faster so far.

For Snakeman's level I have two questions: 1) Could shooting the clouded bullets reduce some of the lag in that area? Or perhaps making them real bullets adds to lag... 2) Might it be possible to give snakeman the last shot earlier by jumping down during the previous shot landing to the right of the center platform, then shooting left through it?

1) Shooting the clouded bullets cause Major lag. 2) Yes it might be possible to kill him quicker, but, i need to be in the center of the stage for him to jmp up and recieve the power up after the boss is dead.

It's pretty good, but just a few things are bothering me. In the part of Snake Man just before all the pole-vaulting guys first appear, it looks as though you could have jumped over a block to hit the ground sooner rather than landing on it first. And are you absolutely sure it doesn't help to jump down to shoot SnakeMan earlier the last time while jumping back up? Also, I think you could have shot one of those walking eye enemies sooner in the vacuum part of MagnetMan by shooting while falling off the ladder.

Small critique. In magnet man, in one room you fall into it and go to the left and grab the life refillers, I assume for style points, but You will hit the ground faster the other way, since you already have a head start from the other room, right? Could you save a few frames there by skipping the style points?
Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What Truth? There is nospoon. Then you will see it is not the spoon that changes, it is only yourself

Hopefully VatcherN tested that. If you fall on the right, you do reach the ground faster, but you're blocked from moving to the left by the wall for a while. So I don't know if one way is slightly faster than the other...

Oh, Nospoon is right. I saved 9 frames by going along the floor. By the way, I liked the shot you fired right before the BluesMan showed up. You should do that at the entrances of a few other bosses for fun. I know I do... And don't forget to spin into ShadowMan's door if it doesn't cost time! What order do you think you want to play DocMan's levels in? I think it would be fun to try the reverse order of the last movie and work your way back home to Dr. RLight.

(1) No, i could not have jumped over the block to hit the ground first, the Ceiling is too low. (2)Im pretty sure it helps to stay in the center of the room. (3)Yes im pretty sure i could have, but that causes major lag.

Hardman stage completed. Frames lost: around 4 due to a small powerup that couldn't be avoided. Also lost 40 gaining a Huge Powerup, you'll see why. Gained 202 frames in the whole level. Gained 181 frames in the stage Gained 21 frames in the Fight. For now a total of 1060 frames ahead. (17 seconds and 40 frames) Level next: Topman. Please comment and get this thread back alive :) http://vatchern.maclenet.com/Rockman3-Top.zip
