Dart's original damage (seems to be the accurate formula):
initial damage = x - 5
and
extra damage = x * 2
where x = [([INT/8] + [INT/32] + 7) * (1 + SP/200)].
Astarte has 1500HP, 0DEF, and is susceptible to slash-typed attacks (all such damage * 1.25) e.g. Dart. Go figure.
Note: Lv = level, SP = skill points, [something] means to truncate something into an interger
EDIT: I don't know why, but STR boosted with spells is much less effective than (about half as) that with equipments or level-ups, while INT boosted with spells is just as effective.
EDIT 2: Birthday cakes? Don't we already have infinite potions thanks to that item glitch?

Question on a technique. There's a lot of places where you get infinite jumps by attacking, switching, and jumping again (wait cube room is easiest example). How exactly does that work? Can you tell me what the frame timings are for each of the necessary steps?
Also, you say there's no need for the statue in that room anyway, what do you do to skip it?
Thanks for making that test run tas, was very enjoyable to watch
Oh, I have just seen the run, why haven't I noticed it before because it was GLORIOUS. Is there ever any chance on seeing an optimized version of this?

Those common tricks are described in arukAdo's first PoR submission. Anyway, I try to explain about them a little.
Partner Double Jump
As arukAdo said, it can be done in the following steps.
(Assumes you control Jonathan)
Call partner Charlotte
Charlotte is summoned and the jump counter *1 becomes 0.
*1 J:020FCB8E/C:020FCCEE, which indicates the number of times you can jump again (inaccurate a little, but who cares?).
Switch partner from Jonathan to Charlotte
You cannot do the partner jump without switching, because of partner's counter value.
Make Jonathan jump with stylus
Partner's jump doesn't decrease the counter value. This is why he still can jump after switching.
Switch from Charlotte to Jonathan
Double jump with Jonathan
Only works for 4 frames just after the switching, it seems.
Sword Cancel / Fast Switching
Attack an enemy
Do switching within 24 frames
When an attack is hit, 24(frames) is set to a timer (J:020FCB91/C:020FCCF1). While that value is non-zero, you can do partner switch without setting Change Cube cooldown timer (021115FC).
So, to let partner attack an enemy, and switch partner later, will delay the fast-switching effect. (see the video above) When you perform the delayed fast-switching, you need to swing a sword before you press the switch button.
Double Jump With Fast Switching
The fast-switching trick works in mid-air.
Therefore you can do double-jump, if the jump counter value is not 0.

I am interesting in it, too. Hey klmz, how is your progress? ;)
It was the VBA Rerecording v23 series that took over my spare time for TASing.... We'll see.

mtbりc is amazing. I could only view the second of the three nicovideo links (since the other two gave me an error), but what I saw was extremely entertaining. Richter mode seems great for TASing.
Hey, can anyone try to explain as simply as possible how to do the warp glitches to get to the top of the castle to face the final boss really quickly? I'm not planning to speedrun, i just want to use the trick to beat hard mode level 1 cap easily, because trying to get through the entire game without leveling up ... It is one of the harder games in the series, lets just say that.
Also, does anyone know of any glitches to get into the throne room in sister's mode? Or any way at all, even if by code. (Remember, im not speedrunning this game, this is for my own gameplay purposes ... Or whatever its called :P )
Hard? Not really. Just play through the game normally at first and get the Miser Ring. Then use the glitch that allows you to get an infinite amount of Thief Rings from 'Wind'. Get up to max gold (should take you 15 or so minutes) and then get two additional Thief Rings to equip on Jonathan and Charlotte. This boosts their Attack stat by 99. Basically gives you the standard attack power at level 1 as if you were on level 99.
Also, combine this with the Ancient Armor (drops from Old Axe Armor) if you can. It will make it so any hit, no matter how strong, will drop your health by 10%.
Made the game very doable for me.
Yeah, I've already started, and it isn't as hard as I thought, especially since I now know about the infinite potion trick that is up for debate on whether it is an accidentally left in beta testing element, an easter egg (I highly doubt this, but my dad says otherwise, and he does know this stuff), or a glitch. Hey, I played the the game the first time legitimately, so now I can go through using glitches guiltlessly! XD
Now, is there any way at all to get the sisters into the throne room?
Edit: I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that by "Two thief rings increases attack stat to 99", you meant miser rings. Fail, am I correct? XD
Has anyone thought of doing a Hard Level 1 run TAS, or is that too boring?
I for one would think it'd be entertaining. I've seen the SDA speedrun and that is really cool.
I can't find it on SDA. Where is it?

Sorry, I was thinking of Order of Ecclesia. Either way a Portrait of Ruin Hard more with level 1 cap would be really cool in my opinion. As well as an Order of Ecclesia run of the same mode (but that's another topic)
Oh, has nobody done a Sisters mode TAS? That's surprising. I guess I could give it a shot.
From what I've seen a modified version of the Richter Mode route should work, considering how similar the goal is between them.
I've only just started TASing games a few months ago though, so expect a lot of errors I guess.
effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter
- some loser
I don't think so, not without a Gameshark or something.
Found something interesting. Apparently you can damage boost off of enemies. What's different is that you don't stop moving as long as you're in the air. It saves 5 frames every time you do it.

I wonder if you actually could, using the same glitch that's used in regular runs via Suspend? It's been a while since I've played Sister Mode and that's the only way I think of that it would work (assuming you can, of course, suspend in Sisters Mode). Obviously you can't get in via normal means, since the game ends at Bauner's room and the barrier should exist normally.

<dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects.
<Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits
<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
The game might freeze at the ending even if you succeed in defeating Dracula with the sisters. I heard the game will freeze at the ending if you defeat Dracula with Richter via bug in SOTN because that ending is designed for Alucard.
