Now THIS is impressive http://fzerovs.blogspot.com/ This guy hacked snes9x and a F-Zero rom to completely emulate an up to 4 players vs. match, and it works. Can't download it yet though. Humm now that I think of it, he didn't mention anything about it, but he could keep the 4 AI players and exchange for human players as they join the game, instead of removing all AI players.
