easy to do: 1067- Super Punch Out!! is zero if you're being that fussy or a shade over 1 KOpm realtime, or 6.97 KOpm by the ingame clock.

Not to reference the first post, but I disagree with the Pokemon Blue run score. The pokemon faint, not die. Also, does it include cut trees as kills?
The cut trees regrow, so therefore they can't be dead. Perhaps 'CUT' only cuts them down enough to be passed, but not enough to kill them. Under this assumption, maybe the HM should be renamed 'PRUNING'.

Not necessarily the same tree. Gardeners could replant while it's offscreen.

The standard is "as dead as it gets". A fainted pokemon counts as a kill, even though it really isn't, because that's as dead as it gets in the game. Same for Punch-out and similar games.

This is off-topic, but I've thought some about how you would abuse D2x for TASing. Presumably you'd use one of the following classes: Sorceress: Teleport for speed; fast bosskills from fire and lightning (fire has a couple of stacking spells, while lightning has massive maximum damages that you can manipulate) Barbarian: Skills to boost run speed (IIRC); can jump-attack as a teleport The big problem with Sorceress is getting Teleport -- it doesn't kick in until level 18, which is mid Act 2 if you've been powerleveling. The problem for the Barbarian is getting the power needed to kill things fast. Both of them need to level - the Sorc for skillpoints and the Barb for statpoints. The Barb would be much faster in the early game, while the Sorc just totally takes off once she gets Teleport. Obviously your first dropped item would be boots of faster run/walk. :) Overall strategy is obvious: run past everything you can until you reach your objective, then assassinate it. The big problem is that if you get too low-level, then enemies stop giving you the experience you deserve, which means that you have to do some leveling to be able to do leveling later. Then it's largely just a matter of deciding what equipment modifiers are most helpful and ensuring that they drop. I actually think that an "Ironman" run -- where you never make use of town facilities -- would be most interesting for this game, as it greatly reduces available resources. Sort of the equivalent of playing on hard mode.

About the Gradius run:

Some trivia: Some enemies survived by spawning off-screen: one rock in the volcano level and five bubbles in the final level. Exactly one meteorite sneaked past you in level 5. On the other hand, over 3300 enemies weren't so lucky.
If we take that number, we would have ~130kpm, or ~2,2 kill per second oO

submission 1100 Mr. Nutz by DaTeL237 441 kills in 29:27.27 14.97 kills/minute pretty aggressive squirrel eh :) (didn't count enemies in boss stages.. wasn't sure whether they count, since sometimes it's hard to distinguish between an enemy and a projectile)

1164 - Jackal (JPN/USA) in 07:25.98 by me - 390 kills in 07:25.98 - 52.47 kills/minutes I counted every object destroyed with my firepower (including gates and body parts of bosses) as one kill, and those automatically killed things like the laser turrets in Stage 6 were not counted. However, The train killed off-screen in Stage 4 was counted as just one.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt - 271 kills in 13:58.63 (838.63 seconds) So ~0.323146083493316 4804502581591405 kills per second. So ~19.389 kills per minute. I might be a little off because I only played the movie once while pressing a counter, and the washing machine fight has many projectiles and is a little confusing what is a kill and what isn't. Still, not very much killing compared with other movies.....

812 - Gods by Aqfaq - 236 kills in 07:31.93 - 31.3 kills/minute It is 32.53 kills/minute, if the 9 player suicides are included. Surprisingly dense killing due to the snake pots bursting out 4 small snakes for easy stomp kills. The figure may not be quite accurate, though. There seems to be an enemy death animation visible in the end, but it is hard to tell whether it is just a graphical glitch or a real kill. It might be just the player dying. (I'm not interested enough to verify it from the RAM.)

...but "As dead as it gets" makes it 3 kills of Bowser, doesn't it?

I would argue that Bowser survives the first 2 battles as he comes back for the third encounter. ... Actually he is clearly alive in later games so he never dies in the same way as say a goomba does... Also I'm not sure how to count his transformation into Dry Bowser after falling into the lava in NSMB.

The first post is getting cluttered, and there are no apparent limits set. I suggest counting top-10 massacre movies and top-10 pacifist (but not "pacifist" as a category!) movies.

I think we need a list both for straight body count and kill per minute. As for pacifist, the most pacifist run on the site (without having the catergory) is Kings Bounty with zero kills in a little under 10 seconds. In fact, it beats most "pacifist" movies.

NES Rad Racer has 0 kills in 21:55, but maybe there are even longer movies on the site with 0 kills. On the other hand, it's not possible to kill anything in that game, so maybe it doesn't count... :)

I counted 712 killed enemies in MiezaruMono's SNES Super Mario Allstars - Lost Levels in 34:45.67. Counted in were 12 troopers that fell into the pit after being stomped on, bullet bills, and 13 Bowsers. No guarantee on those numbers. 20.48 kills per minute.

Man I just stumbled across this thread in Chamale's signature. Hyper Princess Pitch will never be beaten I feel. Anyone know the kills per minute in that movie?

The only games I know of that can beat Hyper Princess Pitch's body count are; Robotron 2048 Smash TV (Arcade version) Total Carnage (Arcade version) Carmageddon (PC)
