So, I recently got a new computer. And now I can't get Mupens Avi recording function to work. It outputs a blank avi (all black and no sound) of the correct length, instead of the desired non-blank avi. I didn't have this problem on my previous computer, which had XP. So, any advice?

Do either of the following: 1. Turn off Aero. You can have this be done automatically when you open mupen64 by right clicking on it, going to properties then clicking the compatibility tab. make sure "disable desktop composition" is checked. 2. Use OpenGL. As for sound, I'm unsure why there isn't any..

hmm, strangely enough, 1 solved both the picture and sound problems. Now to figure out why Windows gives me an error whenever I try to close the program. Something about it having stopped working. Which, considering I closed it, makes sense, but I wouldn't think Windows would find that in error. Not that large of a deal, as it certainly doesn't prevent me from getting it closed, but sort of annoying.

I run Vista so i think i may know what you are talking about. The problem might be that you have Direct64 in your plug ins, because that causes an error message when you close Mupen for some unexplainable reason. I don't record using Direct64, so it's easier for me to keep Direct64 outside of the Mupen folder when I'm not using it so I can avoid the annoyance of the error message.

Well, that was the problem, apparently. Glad to have these things getting fixed.
