Normally I don't really go sharing these kinds of things, but a friend of mine on deviantArt did this, and I did it a few times and it's got some laughable results. Since we here seem to enjoy dorking around like this, and it's a good way to chill for a few minutes while doing a TAS, I figure I'd toss it up. Enjoy! --- CREATE YOUR OWN BAND NAME & ALBUM COVER: To Do This 1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations" or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album. 3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. 4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together. 5 - Share!

OK I'll bite... I guess it's more of a cassette cover, but oh well. As Dave Barry would say, I am not making this up. Edit: Damn, I'm an idiot. It should have said "the pleasures of others" but I copied it down wrong. But whatever. I did another one just in case: Sorry it's huge.

Eh, sure. This boss is getting annoying anyway. Yeah, I took a little liberty with the rules concerning the album name. Prosecute me. :P

Neither the Album cover, my band name or the album name is particulary funny. They're actually pretty good: EDIT: Did another one:

Funny, I got a sports figure and a sports quote. Too bad it's not the same sport. ^^;;

Why do I find it scary just how well some of these work out?

You can never tell how many tries are behind one that works out well. Also, those who try and get crappy results will probably not be motivated enough to photoshop and post the cover. Humans are also good at finding semantical connections if they suspect them to be there, even if there are no intended ones. Taking some semi-random words and labeling it a poem, most people are able to come up with some very interesting interpretations. Edit: That is a song from this album: These guys are totally emo (sample lyric: "all of my books are overdue/all of this because of you"

I, like Ferret, took a little liberty on the album name rule, because "Has Of Being Happy" and "One Has Of Being Happy" make significantly less sense as album titles.

I had to do this one with GIMP, so it's not the best quality, but I like it :) I'll do more, probably with Paint since, although it sucks, it's a lot more user-friendly than GIMP. Wasn't particularly lucky with this one but I thought it was absurdist so I rolled with it:

The full band name would have been "Polish science and technology (1601–1650)", but I decided that the numbers were superfluous.

I had to try for a picture twice because on the first one, they did something so I only got a 1x1 pixel image by saving it normally. So I was like screw that, and tried again.[/img]

I had a similar issue with mine. You can bypass it by extracting the URL via the source code.
