hi TASVideos members
I finally finished one of the most complex submission I ever worked on. I started this on 28/12/2008 but I stopped 2 months later, trying to cool out after my poor performance in the last submission, trying to IMPROVE, searching videos to influence it. I started doing the TAS again in 16/03/2009, with great expectations, working on it until 29/06/09, and now it's finished =)

mmbossman: Excellent run with some very entertaining moments. There may be a few more glitches that could be implemented, but overall this will be a great addition to the site. Congrats, SDR, on your first accepted movie!

Meh. This run was great, but I feel like it can be so much more. There's no reason to use Brutalities three times with all but one being pointless. There were also a lack of glitches, and some used too often (i.e. fighting in purgatory, which was cool, but lost its effect). But those that were in were great. In particular, the bability throw finisher killed me. High jump fighting was also great. Polish it up, and it's a definite yes-and-i-will-kill-all-who-don't-see-it from me.

I do agree with your criticisms, but this is so, SO far from a meh vote from me.

Found some glitches that could be implemented. There's also a glitch where if you can throw two fans at once as Kitana, she'll become a fan herself. Also works with Shang, and he can transform into other characters as the fan too. Like I said, this is great, but it could be so much more, and like I said, I would kill anyone who didn't watch it if it had more glitches shown off and less cop-out brutalities. (also, wtf @ the blue screen of death in the Genesis version)

I'm tempted to also say star- the brutalities are probably the sticking point for that though.

There's been a number of comments about how this run could be better. I'm still quite happy with this run, and I don't think we have to publish the absolutely-perfect-UMK3 run on the first try, especially if it takes a long time and a lot of work to make significant changes to the current run. After all, how many versions of the MKII run got made, with different variations on the glitches each time? </rhetorical>
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:

Yes, but quite a few are possible on the SNES, like the Sektor glitches and The Pit finisher bug. Worst case - a version switch may be in order for the Genesis version. Or if we want to be classy, the Arcade version.

hahah.. I had totally forgotten about Kabal's suicide! that was the greatest thing ever... And yeah I noticed he didn't use the kitana double fan glitch.

I'm having trouble thinking of a more boring screenshot... I'm sure there has to be one, but damn... the current one will be tough to beat.

This was one of the funniest runs I've seen in ages. MK glitches always make me laugh, and the 'broken Friendship' was just priceless. XD YES all the way.

that was pretty cool. I don't remember having Mercies in the SNES version though? Does anyone know about the pause trick I found a very long time ago? check it out, ignore the gay layout etc: http://thengamer.com/wouter/snescodes.htm I remember trying many things and having so many more glitches by using that pause trick.. and I remember playing with Sheeva and Liu Kang and somehow I could turn him gold and have all sorts of weird things happen.. I don't remember how I did it nor if I taped anything since it's been many ages ago, but I think you might want to look into this.

And it's actually surprisingly easy to pull off in real time as well. Just get to round two with the "Quick Finishers" code on, and make sure the person who lost the first round wins the second. Now you can do a whole bunch of shenanigans!

Thumbs up for this movie, greatly enjoyed watching it. Judging from some of the replies made in this topic, it seems there's yet more glitchy goodness. Seeing as this run already seems quite, well, full of them, I don't see how all of them could possibly be included in a single run, and as for arguments like glitch X is cooler than glitch Y, your mileage may vary. Wonder if it'd be a huge crime to have two runs on a single game, just to provide a full coverage of the glitchyness in said game.

Yeah, it'd pretty much be a huge crime :) I don't know much about this game, but wouldn't doing more rounds where you control both characters increase the total number of rounds available? That could allow for more glitches etc.

Next time another attempt at this game is made, maybe there can be a gain/loss in total time but all glitches including some left out can be demonstrated.
