Now that the bot seems to be running stable, are there any sane features users want added? Example of a sane feature: Calculate NTSC frames Examples of a non sane feature: German to Swahili word translator

.cl for basic arithmetic and A/V related functions. Quadratics and logrithmics are probably unnecessary. And if .cards, .dice, or .catboy/girl comes back, I will kill your goldfish

Those are not sane features.

I am my goldfish. I'm going to report you to the FBI for attempted murder. Can I have some details on the A/V functions?

The japlookup was usefull (even if it was somewhat abuse sometime...), geoip can be usefull too Of course the most important is cl frames edit : .google ? (not .googlefight tought... thats not sane)

I mentioned .nforum in IRC. That was awhile ago, so in case you forgot: .nforum finduser|findtopic|findpost "searchstring" There was also a command like "?? microstorage", which returned the microstorage URL. Probably sounds ridiculous, but nobody seems to remember it offhand.

it it possible to .cl (x) frames for different systems? It only used to have NES frames which can be innacurate if you are TASing a different system (eg GB compared to SGB is different). Or alternatively different region (ie PAL). commands like .seen .ip and .geoip are useful.

Is .pkmn still working? I liked being a Bug/Flying Zurreco. Furthermore, it would be cool if you had a '.tas <game>' function that would link to all runs under that name on the site. As in, '.tas Super Metroid' would link to all Super Metroid runs, while '.tas Metroid' would bring up all Metroid runs, including SM. Put a limit on requests per time and it would be a good tool.

Any of the translate or page look up stuff could auto /msg people, so it doesn't clutter the channel. also, I'd like to murder .catboy/catgirl

.cl was the only useful tool I ever used... Would be nice to have that back again. And .cards was such a nice tool to play with :( I'm okay with giving the sane tools much more priority, but I think .cards, .dice etc. combined with what Zurreco suggested wouldn't hurt, would it?
Put a limit on requests per time and it would be a good tool.
Also, would be cool to see tasvideosbot say something else than "don't you talk to me!". :) Basicly, I'm supporting the fun tools and aspects, but I wouldn't really mind if they were missing out in the end.

_Tina_ actually has code for that, but as of yet it isn't really able to be displayed (and it isn't as robust/random as BisqBot's, only the actual last action/last message.) I must say that I really love all the hate you guys pile on about .cards/etc. Was it really that bad? Also, you can blame me for the creation of the ".catgirl" command (though I wasn't even aware it persisted past the first few days it existed). Feel free to pile on the hate.

Just like your chronic dissatisfaction with everything related to the site, it was cute at first, but got old very, very quickly.

Not really...
/ignore -regexp -pattern "^\\." * PUBLICS
...But if it's worth ignoring, it's probably worth getting rid of. I'm a little surprised people are so bothered by it. So often when I ask "doesn't [blank] annoy you?" the answer is a shrug, followed by some remark about how "everything on [venue/medium] is stupid."

Not quite everything, but admittedly the amount has been going up in recent months. I wonder why.

Speaking of this, why is BisqBot mutebanned instead of simply making the .cards (and other silly) triggers bannable offenses? I imagine bisqbot's .cl and other similar useful features will be very difficult to reimplement, but the way things stand, it's been made a pain in the ass for people who want to use them.

Because it forces people to pm him instead. They get their play, no-one is forced to read garbage lines, no-one has to be banned, everybody wins.

Except people who have enough IRC windows open already that PMing a bot becomes a huge pain in the ass. There's no reason that people shouldn't be able to use its useful functions directly in the channel like they always could before.

They will, once Nach gets the bot up and running.

Why should Nach have to do more work to reimplement something when there's a perfectly working version available already if someone would just remove the blocks rendering it useless? The situation is ridiculous and unrespectable.

Whoa, don't go putting words into my mouth. Who said I'm going to allow you to talk to the bot directly in the channel?

Excuse me, I made an assumption based on the conversation. I didn't mean to speak for you. My apologies.

If this is the case, what's the point of having another bot? It's still possible to message Bisqbot with all the previous commands... maybe I'm missing the point.

First point you're missing is "another bot". We have no guarantee that BisqBot will be around forever. Second point is that due to the bot being run on the same server as the site we can add on features that integrate with the site in ways a remote bot couldn't. Lastly, I don't care which features BisqBot does or doesn't have, I'm asking which features you guys want, they don't have to currently exist within BisqBot.
