Is there a torrent file with all TAS-movies made from NES games? I understand maybe it's not up-to-date with all the newest improvements, but I don't really mind. Cheers.

Do you mean encodes or input files? I used to keep up an archive of the input files for all the movies published, but it hasn't been updated for quite a while. It can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5335

Thanks a bunch, I meant input files. ;) [Edit]: Aaw, seems like both Bisqwit's mirror, and your file's link are down. Any chance of getting them back, or should I start downloading one by one? *cries*

I'll upload it again sometime today EDIT: Wow, two years to the day, here it is. This only goes up to movie 992. Anything newer than that (i.e. roughly 400 movies) are not included. Updating this archive is on my TODO list, but I just haven't gotten around to it for a while. I hope this is good enough to get you started. Oh, in case the proper file extension gets lost in the upload, it's .7z http://www.wikiupload.com/download_page.php?id=192939

This screams for some kind of automated site feature.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

That reminds me. Can we please switch standard naming for input files on Tasvideos to game name first? I makes it so much easier to deal with.

Yes it does, however the names of all the inpu files from the last 400 movies would have to be converted by hand if you want them to be somewhat usable. If there's serious thought of adding something like this I don't have a problem putting inthe work to update my archive/.7z file to share.

The feature could name the files based on some submission form fields, like this: "game - version - nickname - completion time.fm2" That is, if the completion time is easy to calculate.

Mine follows "ROM Name TAS (Goal) - Date Movie# - author" (completion time isn't really feasible because some OSes forbid use of ":" in filenames). My archive goes up to 1041. Given some time I'd be able to update it. Edit: That also depends on if my Soap API key is still valid. Maybe someone should check on that? It would be fairly obvious if it's still there (it has part of my name in it). Otherwise I would end up having to pull data from this site and ... yeah, no.

Why have a mix of parentheses and hyphens? You could just use one or the other. But yeah, date would be better than completion time, since generally the newer movie is faster. "Goal" would be something like "any%" or "100%", I assume you mean. Anyway, automated file naming is a good idea for the site in general, imo.

Here's the link to the original thread regarding this. I'm glad to see it's being looked at again. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5335
