Okay I finished the movie!!! Here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/413/Mighty%20Bomb%20Jack_run%20by%20Guybrush.fcm It's 967 frames(16sec) faster than pervious movie. Should I submit it?? Any comments?? I know it can be done faster with more precision and planning, but I have no interest for this game now!!

I haven't watched it (I don't know the game, so it wouldn't help), but if you feel it's improvable with more precision and planning, you probably shouldn't submit it. That kind of work is best left on the forums, for either you to get interested again and continue it someday, or someone else to pick up and continue.

Thanks for a reminder! Here is progress so far: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/418/Mighty%20Bomb%20Jack.fcm It's now 232 frames faster. I'll now stop sending WIPs and concentrate on the movie. I'll submit it when it's ready.

I'm going to do a best ending (Rescue all royal family members, capture Belzebut) run for this game. But theres one big BUT: I don't know where to find those two crystal balls or five S-coins, and I can't find a walkthrough or proper FAQ anywhere. So at this point I ask for help. PS. If you haven't watched my last Mighty Bomb Jack video here is the link for my submission: http://tasvideos.org/906S.html

There's no walkthrough, apparently, but there is an actual FAQ, found at the obvious place: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/file/mighty_bomb_jack.txt (don't click on the link - copy and paste the URL it into your browser instead) It says where the crystal balls are, at least. The S coins are hidden in various places (action stages) just like treasure chest that you need to break a block to reveal. But they don't disappear when you touch them, so I'm not sure if just revealing them is enough or if there's something else you need to do with them.

I started making the movie. Here is first room and first bomb room. I'd prefer co-op for this movie, so if your willing to help that way please let me know asap.

I thought about letting the S-coins be because they are hidden and nobody knows where they are and I don't want to look for them, So I'll only collect those two crystal balls. This makes the movie faster because you can warp all unnecessary rooms. Or should I do it warpless??

That's not a good reason at all, it just seems lazy, and you can't call it the "best ending" if you skip them. I think you should try doing a test runthrough of the game just to find them (should be easy because you don't have to do anything perfectly, just test the places they could be - I found 2 by accident earlier but I don't remember where). Then you could start on the actual run once you know where they are. If you're getting all 5 of the S coins and the 2 crystal balls, that's enough that I think it'd be OK to use warps to skip levels that don't have anything worth getting, but warpless would also be fine. Well, it's your choice...

Ok, I'll try to find those coins (help would be nice). I accidently found one in the end of the game when I was trying to find out what to do:) But for the warps, I'd say it's a poll. So if you want warps, vote yes. If you don't vote no.

I vote for a full run of this game. so no warps. The warpful run was interesting, but I think that a full run will be more interesting. How long do you think a warpless version would be, Guybrush? I never beat this game, so I have no idea! :) Oh yes, please post your progress in this thread. I will happily watch and give feedback on it as much as I can. Good luck!

yeah, do it warpless guybrush^^ im sure ppl (including me) would help you whenever they can so, my vote is: even if, for example, you get all those 5 S-coins in the first stage, dont skip any stage, do them all^^

Here's next WIP. I discovered a new, faster route in bomb room 2. This may change because I might need mighty coins for opening some boxes(this is not sure at all). I have to study the game some more. Again, I ask for help at this point: If someone would look for those S-coins I would be very, very, VERY pleased(I'll try to look for them too). And for the lenght of the video, I have no clue. Maybe 15minutes or it could be over half an hour.

Here's the next one! Again, it may change depening on those S-coins. The bomb room 3 is 99 frames faster than the same room in warp version. The WIP ends there because I'm not sure which route to take, there might be a S-coins in another. I'll take a look! I think that the whole movie might be about 15-20minutes long, because the warp movie was 6:44 and I can squeeze from every bomb room about 0.5-1.5 seconds (in some maybe 3-5secs, because I thought about some new routes!), so bomb rooms might be around 6:30 or 6:25. And the "action rooms" are about 15secs to 1minute(not sure). But I'll continue my work! Please comment those WIPs, I can learn lot from your comments!

Ok, I am a bit newbie so, how do I send the snapshot? And thanks for the tip, I would never thought of that, I did it 5 frames faster that way!

Oh allright, but it's F12 on version 0.98.13 ;) I usually upload .jpg's on this site: http://upl.silentwhisper.net/ It's free, all you need to do is register first. After you've registered I think you can figure how to upload your images. If not, just ask me. :)

You mean it's F12 in the version of 0.98.13 Nitsuja edited because the first ten F keys are now tied to savestates by default, right?

Yep, I don't know if it's like that in the normal 0.98.13, I've just played nitsujas edited version. But you're right probably right about that, I just downloaded nitsujas 0.98.13 recently, but if I remember correctly most F-keys are used up by savestate buttons. So that's probably why it has been changed to F12.
