I guess if I posted Randil for his NES work on TASer of the year I ought to nominate him here as well.

This is a tough one. I think it comes down to HappyLee or Lord Tom for me. HappyLee is amazing but I give Lord Tom more points for having more than one game on the list. But both are very strong. I'll hold off voting for now.

(I should point out that In NES TASer, HappyLee has a movie he obsoleted (walkathon), and Aglar does not have listed a movie of his which was obsoleted: 1316M - NES Donkey Kong (JPN/USA) by Aglar in 01:08.97 ) I will give my vote to HappyLee for relentlessly destroying nearly every NES Mario run on the site. Almost everyone in this category produced improvements to existing runs, if someone had produced multiple interesting runs of new games I probably would have voted for them, but I think HappyLee wins the 'best NES run improvements' award

I think I'm going to have to give my vote on this one to Aglar, for producing entertaining runs of overlooked games.

HappyLee may have only done Mario, but the man has done Mario proud! So many updates all year long on a series I figured wouldn't get much out of it. Fresh and full of goodness everytime. :) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

HappyLee made Mario Moonwalk. I've Moonwalked all the way to voting for HappyLee.

I vote Lord Tom. Happy Lee found some new interesting tricks and produced many movies, but only for one game engine (essentially).

Let me introduce myself first, please. Thank you. Hi, I'm HappyLee, a 16-year-old Chinese student. I love to be a TASer, and I want my movies to be perfect. TASVideos is the best place I'd like to visit, but I found it hard to communicate with you guys well, sorry for that. I tried really hard at school to study English, but I learnt nothing but how to deal with exams. That's why I speak little here, but inside my mind, I have lots to say. I'm a good student, though. As a good student, I haven't played lots of games. In fact, I haven't heard of most of the games. All I like are games such like: Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Mega Man X4, and Metal Slug 3, X. I can play these games very well, and I love to challenge myself, so I learnt how to TAS by myself, and enjoy myself with good movies. Because Mega Man and Metal Slug are hard to TAS, and I only get 1 day in a week to use the computer, I have only done few SMB runs. Joining TASVideos changed my life, after that, I worked harder and harder on my movies, and kept finding amazing new tricks. There are lots of great TASers here, they have lots of choices of games to make. As for me, I think I'm only good at making SMB movies, because other movies are perfect enough to me. And also, I am trying to TAS Metal Slug 3 for my first non-SMB movie. I was really surprised when I saw I was on the NES TASer of the Year Poll, and I felt really touched when I knew many friends liked me. These are good enough for me, whatever I will or won't be the NES TASer of the Year, I will always be HappyLee. To all of my friends at TASVideos, watch my show in 2010! I will not let you down! Thank you VERY much!
Recent projects: SMB warpless TAS (2018), SMB warpless walkathon (2019), SMB something never done before (2019), Extra Mario Bros. (best ending) (2020).

This sounds completely wrong. I have seen your first posts on TASVideos, and compared to those, your current level of English is really good. I'd even go as far as to say it's on par with many native speakers here. You have made amazing progress even if it doesn't look like that from your own standpoint. :) (That being said, I decided to vote for Aglar because of his consistently good and creative output combined with unexpected game choices.)

I agree completely. I dare even say you actually speak better English than I do! Edit:
<erokky> Was "then" intentional? <Fluffygon> No <Fluffygon> I really am that bad at English xD
Case in point.

Speaking and understanding it is much harder than being able to read and write it.

I'd imagine it'd be harder to actually write English then to speak it... But let's not derail this thread any further, let is continue discussing our gods NES TASers in relevance to this poll.

Voted for Lord Tom. He made the least runs, but they where all great, well worked through and different from each other. Aglar was a close second.

Ok, for the final vote of NES TASer of the year, I had to go with HappyLee. It is a really tough vote as both of these TASer of impressed me greatly. But I know first hand the wrath of HappyLee from having been pwned by him when competing with Super Mario Bros. He's truly a creative TASer. Congrats.

I went with Lord Tom because no matter what the game is, he still makes it his bitch.

Don't forget HappyLee did Extra Mario Bros. too! BTW, there's some great hacks here (including EMB): http://www.derok.net/emulation0/supermariobros.html

I vote for the one whose movie obsoleted my favourite TAS of all time (that received the highest entertainment rating I've ever given).
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do
