My friend received this medallion with what seems to be an Asian character for her birthday. So she wants to know if it means anything. Here is the photo she sent me: And here it is flipped horizontally, just in case: Any help? Thanks in advance.

It looks like a kanji drawn in cursive or semi-cursive script, which might make it hard to recognize for people who aren't accustomed to reading them.
