Ilari mentioned Hexen on IRC. To anyone who's thinking about running this, you might want to take a look at Cacodemon Leader's Cleric Skill 3 run. Link to video ps: It looks better in 720p, but I'm actually going to upload a much better quality version later. After I get Chrono Trigger online that is... This is the best full game speedrun I know of. It was only available in DEM format before I rendered it (mainly because there's no native AVI recording in that old version of ZDoom). The skip that you see in Heresiarch's Seminary can be performed in regular Hexen, but it's supposedly very difficult. It probably shouldn't be a big deal for a TAS, but this other trick I discovered might be better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-7frW3vMfU

lol! That'd be interesting to see. Personally, I'd like to see keen 4 and 6 done, mostly 4. Jetpack might just be neat, too.

Jetpack would indeed be awesome. A 100 level run would be long, but extremely impressive.

I'd appreciate seeing an Angband TAS, though it'd probably be somewhat miserable to put together.

Correct me if Im wrong but isn't Fury of the Furries one of those DOS games? I used to play that when I was a kid and I would really love to see a TAS on that game!

I would love to see a TAS of Alley Cat. (yes, it's one of those games that goes on forever, but it has six distinct rooms, so completing every room once on the hardest difficulty would be a goal worth seeing)

Though I enjoy the Internet memes that come from that game (such as Weegee), I don't think a TAS of it would be very interesting. As for my wishlist: Wolfenstein 3D Chip's Challenge (unless the Windows version is done instead)

I just rediscovered Fury of the Furries and thought it would make a very good TAS, particularly because of its physics. The furries can move really fast but are hard to control manually when they do; and one of them has a rope that he can attach to walls and swing from. It would be fun to see how a TAS handles that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vD80v5PZ-A (that's an Amiga video but the game also exists for DOS).

This page should have a poll in the first thread with a list of all the suggestions that have come up so that people can go click on their favourite candidates (games they like/what they think would make a good TAS). Anyway, these haven't been mentioned yet I think... Dungeon Master 1/2 Eye of the Beholder Lands of Lore 1 etc... Should make for interesting TAS'es because they allow fast fast motion/spell casting etc., but you might also just be able to find sequence breaks for some of the puzzles.

Yes! And you can sequence break past 3/4ths of the game if you know where to go; unlike its sequel and LOL, this game is very non-linear.

I realized afterwards that unfortunately they require good mouse support as well.

There is a version with much improved mouse support made by c-square when he made his Space Quest TAS, it might help.

I would love to see "Creepers" TASed. It's a relatively unknown game from the early 90s, one of the last made by Psygnosis before they were bought by Sony. The style is somewhat like "Lemmings", but with caterpillars instead.

For that matter, Apogee / id software had lots of good platform games that were basically a cornerstone of the DOS market in those days. For example, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure; Bio Menace; and Monster Bash. Considering most of the episodic games are basically the same game three times with different levels (except Commander Keen, which has more variation), I would prefer seeing one run of each series before we get to runs of each additional episode. $.02

cosmo was very good! i agree more variety first. still dont forget about remaining episodes. those who good at those games should do all the levels. we need keen 3 also.

And 100% runs for the Keen games, i.e. complete all levels without using the out-of-bounds glitch!
