It would be interesting to see this as a time attack. The switching from one viking to the next would would have to be mastered, in my experience that was the most frustrating aspect of the game. Using no passwords of course, the length of the movie would be questionable, seeing as there are around 30 levels (could someone verify this?). However, if they are finished quickly, it would sustain the entertainment value. What do you think? Could this be time attack material?

There are 37 levels for the Lost Vikings. Switching between characters efficiently is almost as important as controlling them fluently. This game would make for a fun timeattack, but it would take a lot of planning. Find some maps and use some of the known glitches (ie the horizontal energy barrier glitch), and you should make it in decent time. Technically, LV2 would be more interesting, but that shouldnt stop you from making this run.

A timeattack at this game would be wonderful to watch, one of the best games ever!

Alright, I'll give it a try. Now, I just have to adjust to doing it in slo-mo ;)

To make it even faster, you may want to consider a 2 player game. This would also reduce the need to switch vikings by probably about 1/3 to 1/2.

Agreed- 1 person using 2 players at the same time would be pretty easy. I'd bet one would pretty much always be olaf, he really supports the others very well.

Ahh, very good idea. I think I'll try that.

Keep in mind, in the two-player setup, if player 2 is off-screen, he can't move.

I've done the first two levels with 2 players and it definitely does cut down time.

I was just reading the back of the box the cartridge comes in, and it says you can play 3 players. I don't think the SNES version supports 3 players, but since the genesis one seems to, this could be the first "1 person controls 3 players" on this website :)

That would truely be awesome if you manage to control the 3 vikings simultaniously!

Sorry, but the rom I have (Europe) only supports two players, besides, Gens only allows 2-player ports. EDIT: I'm using the USA version now because it's plays at a faster rate.

Bleh, 3 players playing Lost Vikings would have been infinitely cool. But I guess 2 players will still be fast and fun...

This makes me want to do a speedrun using my vcr and sega genesis. But don hold your breath, I am not all that great at the game, and all my friends are notably worse then I am (cause there is no way I can handle 3 controllers at once. I dont even OWN 3 controllers).

It's looking pretty good, however I've been pretty busy and haven't had a lot of time to really sit down and get at it. But I'll get keep on it whenever I can.
