Contra

Contra is a side-scrolling shooter game for the NES. Equipped with heavy artillery and infinite ammo, you must save the world by defeating the organization Red Falcon.
The Famicom version, 魂斗羅 (Kontora), has cutscenes, music and environment effects not in the NES version. The game was released as Probotector in Europe, with redesigns of its characters to make them look like robots.
