There is a way to save close to 20 frames in Area 2... Though, because of how RNG works in this game, most of it is lost later on due to lag and bad pattern at the start of Area 8. I tried my best to keep the time save going but RNG keeps getting in the way. So I'm leaving this as possible improvement for someone else to pick up this later on if they want to try their luck!

About 70% done! Currently around 3 minutes faster than current published run.
  • Area 5 was quite of a challenge. Jason's movement underwater seem simple, but they're hard to manipulate, especially when entering a room. Boss is also incredibly technical and losing frames is so easy.
  • Area 6 was harder I think, due to ice physics being so different in Japan version compared to US version. Breaking blocks also was tricky and laggy at the same time. Thankfully boss was very simple so that was nice!

This was a long one to work on. Area 3 was a bit complicated due to lag being so heavy out there, so is Area 4 but at least it wasn't as long as Area 3. Overall, the reset warp from Japanese version saved a lot of time, currently 5183 frames ahead (or 86.24 seconds). Half way there! What is coming might be harder, who knows?!

Finished both Area 1 & 2. Japanese version was used for good reasons:
  • It has reset warps which is the main reason as it is a huge time saver.
  • More controllable RNG and easier lag reduction.
Going for All Bosses to stay on same theme BrotherMojo went for. So far, 831 frames saved over current publication largely due to skipping deaths on first two bosses as well as continuous lag reduction from the start.

This is a WIP of Terminator 2 for the NES which is over 20 seconds ahead of current TAS I did couple weeks ago. I lost motivation to finish it because the RNG in stage 3 is too much to handle and incredibly tough to get similar pattern to what the current WR got at least. Maybe if someone wants to work on this, they can check this one out for improvements :)

Finished 8 robots (~73% completion). Entering Wily Stages. Potentially, next WIP should be the last and the run will be finished. Can't say when though. Despite the version differences, in real time we're over 10 seconds ahead of the current run.

Finished up to Turbo (~53% completion). Cannot effectively compare against current run because here, on top of everything, we change the route with Shade being first.
Skipped second Proto cutscene and managed to get good Rush Search RNG.
Found some improvements in first WIP so it took some time before posting this due to resyncing.
New route will be Shade -> Turbo -> Shade revisit (Proto Shield) -> Slash -> Spring.

Includes Rush Search strat to skip Protoman cutscene... Saves over 4 seconds. I don't have exact values for how much frames saved due to both emulator (BizHawk instead of Snes9x) and version (USA instead of Japan) differences. Emulator version is 2.9.1

These are useful memory addresses for when it is not clear how to move forward. Boss HP: Needed especially with the triple shots rocks so you make sure all three shots hit Y-Position: Useful when you're obscure during a shortcut
