I managed to save 1 second from the 12:59.93 TAS thanks to so new optimizations by Himmdawg! He found a new strat in Zulag 1 where you can do the zulag without grenades!
I managed to save 58 frames over the previous movie that is currently in the workbench. This one contains a new jump in the Scrabania Nests from the any% NMG WR run and I managed to improve some of the rescues. This needs to be replaced with the current file and can resume judging.
I synced it again on 2.3.3 and now I made it a sub 1:05:00 on the emulator making it a 1:04:59! Will make a temp encode to verify sync before submitting.
I am 38 frames ahead of my cancelled run. Better Stockyards strats. That strat towards the end of the Paramonian Nests with the 2 Paramites took a while to sync this time!
#66070176287423369 - Up to Paramonian Temple - 34 Frames Faster
So on Bizhawk v2.3 when I get to this stage in the game, I am 35 frames ahead but I can't advance cause the game crashes. Maybe I should try Bizhawk v2.5 for this category.
#65912797352090660 - Finished the game - All 99 Mudokons Rescued
I am 74 frames ahead of the published run. Added some new strats that were discovered by Himmdwag in Scrabanian Temple and FFZ. I'm gaurenteed to get the sub 1:05 in this run!
#65854612132256465 - Up to Scrabania - 61 frames ahead
Managed to save time thanks to some new strats by Himmdawg! Took me a while to sync the Christmas DDG this time but now it's all synced and I managed to save 18 frames from the previous movie - enocde incoming!
#65741599461749197 - Up to Scrabania Temple Trials
I am starting Scrabania first this time to try and fix a corruption later in the game with a missing ring in Zulag 1. If I fix this, then I will save even more time not having to go in and out of the screen.
I am now 89 frames ahead from the published run. Also, I'm thinking of doing Scrabania first this time as it is faster to do Mudanchee Vaults in Exoddus and it will hopefully fix the missing ring in Zulag 1 so I won't need to go in and out of the screen.
I have decided to start 100% Oddysee again this time with 1 controller. This one is 22 frames ahead of the previous movie but may be more with the change in the time rule of PSX.
#65607670076006980 - Abe's Odddysee any% PSX TAS - 6 Frames Faster and Fixed Slig Bug
Because of the latest fantastic version of the Bizhawk emulator, I have become more interested than ever with working with TAS's. No joke. 'have found a glitch that... Yeah, let's say it's a "square glitch"; a mysterious glitch that turns Abe into a square, lol. 'discovered it when I tried to figure out how to pass a slug unseen; alternatively, that he sees me, but that when he fires a rain of bullets towards Abe, Abe is still not getting hit. Hehe, you know what I mean. Well... Instead of THAT, I found this glitch that as I wrote; he becomes a square, but also it seems that the game "freezes". It's very ironic, given that "freeze !!" is exactly what these militant slugs shouts when Abe is discovered, haha.
Somehow managed to save one frame in the Monsaic lines. Timer value 8213C was at 6863 on PCSX-RR at this current point but managed to walk one frame earlier so now at 6862.
Over 2 minutes faster in-game time than the current published run to this point. Looking good so far. For the rings to appear, I need to do a small screen reset by riding the platform up and down. This will allow me to complete the game. I'm getting closer now.
I am 179 frames ahead of my test run. Got a perfect Slog RNG towards the end. Had to jump a few frames later in the secret area to get good RNG. Hopefully those Paramites in Paramonia will have good RNG this time.
I have knocked off four seconds of frames up to this point comparing to my test run done back in September-October. Time to deal with some Sligs and then with that Slog RNG at the end of the level. I will upload a video when I reach the end of Monsaic Lines.
#28106894593546424 - 28 Rescues - 153 Frames Ahead Over My Test Run
I have now saved 153 frames ahead of my test run and now I am ready to TAS Stockyards. Most the rescues are similar to Dooty's old PCSX run. I am very happy with the progress going so far. Some of the rescues had to be changed slightly because the Mudokon who's far behind would always get killed by the meat saw, so a few frames had to be added so that the Mudokon won't get killed by the saw. Other than that, looking good so far.
#27967945370179363 - 25 Rescues - 121 Frames Ahead of my test run
Run is going smoothly. There is a difference between the first loading time between PCSX. On Bizhawk it took over 100 frames to load. On PCSX it takes 60 frames to load. I understand that a more accurate emulator will have better loading times so my final time will be slower than PCSX.
Here is a one second improvement again ahead of my test run and I am up to 12 rescues this time. There are some speed improvements to Mudokons 9 and 10. They both attach together and go into the portal together. In the test run, they went one after another.
