Note: /full/path/to/file.ext is always meant to be substituted with whatever your actual full path to a given file is.
Follow these instructions up through the Diagnostic disk section:
Download FD12LGCY.iso (md5: a55750577b4c3b88dba489df4f929f88) and FD12FLOPPY.zip from here:
Extract FLOPPY.img (md5: 36689ac4152d8efb13ab230e9aea46ec) from FD12FLOPPY.zip.
In ~/.pcem/configs/late80s.cfg, set
disc_a = /full/path/to/compaqdd.img;/full/path/to/FLOPPY.img
Note the ; before the two .img paths. This way we can swap floppy images in the same drive.
Also in ~/.pcem/configs/late80s.cfg, set
cdrom_drive = 200
cdrom_path = /full/path/to/FD12LGCY.iso
In ~/.pcem/pcem.cfg, set
confirm_on_stop_emulation = 0
UNCHECK Runtime -> Prevent writing to disk OR THIS MOVIE WILL DO NOTHING!
Set Game executable to your pcem path (probably /usr/bin/pcem).
Set Command-line options to
--config /full/path/to/late80s.cfg
Run the movie.
This movie has been known to crash occasionally, playing the movie on fast-forward can mitigate this problem.
On the last frame of the movie, Stop PCem through libTAS (WAIT FOR IT TO CLOSE, DO NOT KILL).
This should leave you with these three files from the Late 80s premade config:
  • ~/.pcem/configs/late80s.cfg - Hashes for this will vary because file paths/names will be different for everyone.
  • ~/.pcem/nvr/late80s.deskpro386.nvr - md5: e32d409f6f822aab0834b6661823c8c3
  • Hard disk .img file wherever you originally saved it - md5: 257208622a9d51f5504eacdabd161955
