Emulated with default setting. This TAS aims to complete all 3 CCs (50cc, 100cc, 150cc) and their respective cups (Lasagna, Pizza, Burger, Ice Cream)
The checkpoint system in this game is very badly programed, it only assumes where the player is on the track and if they have skipped more than half of it, if they skip more than half, a lap is removed. So by going in specific areas that don't make the player skip more than 50%, ultra lap-skips can be done, completing laps in mere frames of a second. Jon is used in the 100cc Lasagna cup so we can unlock Liz and her kart's spoiler (Superfit Spoiler) fast, with a quick trip to time trials to unlock her exclusive hat, the Bunny Band. The Bunny Band is the most broken hat in the entire game, allowing you to get 4 springs from an item box (with a maximum of 8 springs), and as springs don't have a cooldown, they're used to gain extreme height and do lap-skips that wouldn't be possible without them. In the 50cc Lasagna cup, we unlock Liz's Medi-Kart, making a perfect combo that gives us max speed. Motion Controls are also implemented, makes some lap skips faster, turning around faster, and allows for 3/3 lap skip on Palerock 100cc without bunny ears.
Besides these major glitches, mini-turbos are charged until they're red to get a max boost, some boost pads are intentionally avoided due to them being slower than a max mini-turbo, and turbos are released into ramps as the speed can get locked when mid-air. Races are also started before the countdown pressing an invisible touch button during the loading screens, saving small times. Side Note: This game has very inconsistent loads and slowdowns on console.
This time saves around 37 minutes over the RTA record of 58:03, even with some time lost to having to unlock items.

Memory: Seeing "Garfield Kart" made me mildly upset remembering how big of a meme it was back in its heyday. Also the tas seems interesting enough so I'm claiming.
Memory: Delaying due to incoming improvement.
Memory: Replacing file with 18280 frame improvement and setting back to judging underway.
Memory: In addition to Samsara checking sync, I ran it myself and it did.
So this was a really fun watch despite it transporting me back to mid-late 2010's Twitter. The weird collision and checkpoint abuse is one thing, but the spring usage is where the game truly is unbelievable. Are you supposed to be able to use them in midair? If so, that's some rather audacious game design since it lets you easily go out of bounds with the quadruple variant.
Accepting!
