B.C.'s Quest for Tires is a 1983 side-scrolling platformer game released on Commodore 64, ColecoVision, MSX, Apple II, Atari 8-bit, IBM PC, and ZX Spectrum. Developed by Paul Butler and Rick Banks, this game is notable as it is one of the earliest commercially released video games that was developed in Canada. The ZX Spectrum version was developed by Mike Davies.

  • Hardest difficulty
  • Emulator: BizHawk 2.11.0 (ZXSpectrum48)

Notes

In this game, you play as Thor, a caveman who has to save Cute Chick from a dinosaur. Like other versions of this game, you can increase the speed the screen scrolls at. The turtle platforming sections reset Thor's speed to 10. However, you can still increase your speed in those sections, which is why you see me hop around while waiting for the path to clear. Nothing else to note outside of going to the right side of the screen at the end to end input earlier.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm heading back in time to the prehistoric era in this time machine I built. I have GOT to figure out how Thor's wheel moves so fast. - Walgrey

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: This game carries on the same concepts from the published Coleco and Commodore 64 versions. Some things are better here, in the fact that minor cut scenes are removed...thus making it a bit faster. Out of the three, the Colecovision remains the fastest, while this one squeezes right in between the other two. I am very familiar with this game and it appears to be perfect, all the way to the end where you use the same technique to end input early. Good job.
Accepting to "Standard".
