What do you want from me? It's Minecraft. You've heard of Minecraft. You know what Minecraft is. You've either played Minecraft, lying about never having played Minecraft, or are currently playing Minecraft. It's a game about mining. Crafting, too, may be involved. It's Hatsune Miku's greatest achievement, she has never done and will never do anything wrong with it. Phantoms were a community vote so my previous statement is true.
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition & Knuckles (featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series) is Minecraft's New Nintendo 3DS Edition. And Knuckles. It features Dante from the Devil May Cry series. It is roughly equivalent to Minecraft Java Edition's 1.12 update, emphasis on the "rough". Phantoms were added in 1.13, which makes this version of the game the only truly perfect final version of Minecraft. Stereoscopic 3D is going to be added in a future update, and I'm really excited for it! I sure hope the 3DS eShop doesn't shut down 3 years ago!!!
Minecraft's okay. I mostly play modded.
Run Comments
Note: This is a different category than #10305: Tegron's 3DS Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition "[April Fools] Dirt%" in 00:41.166. I can't compete with the legendary Dirt%.
Real OGs will remember that I've already TASed this category on Java Edition, but that was 10 years ago and so I was a lot more cringe and a lot less decent of a person. Unfortunately, in that time frame, the glitch used to achieve that run was patched, and those changes made it into Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition, which is weird because you'd think a version of Minecraft based off of Bedrock Edition wouldn't be fixing glitches whatsoever.
Good news on that front, though! Because it's sort of Bedrock Edition, there's a new method that's roughly twice as fast as the old... whatever it was. It's been 10 years and I deleted the old run out of shame. That glitch is lost media now. Should it ever be found? No! The new glitch is a lot harder to explain, so I won't. Look, I'm still burnt out after Sweet Home. Writing detailed submission texts about video game glitches is exhausting. There's only so many jokes I can make, and also the likelihood of finding the joke that ends the universe increases the more I write. Do you think I want to be responsible for ending the universe? Yes, but that's entirely beside the point!!!
Run comments, but for real
So yeah, hi, this is a "sequel" to "commemorate" the 10th anniversary of the old run, which was based entirely off this moment on IRC from over a decade ago. As usual, my priorities are as straight as I am.
My original intent was to just loosely TAS random stuff on the actual game before abruptly cutting to the SMW ending, but my original attempt at doing so (which is the submitted input file) desynced pretty much immediately for me, so I figured I'd just take the full video editing route. Winged it from there in one session, recording all of the extra footage and coming up with the extra little jokes and bits in pretty much real time. Is it better than the original? Hell yeah! The original was just something like me writing "flutter AI" out of wool blocks in creative mode before abruptly cutting to the SMW ending. This time I actually put the bare minimum amount of effort in! Is it still super niche and kinda cringe? Hell yeah! And that's okay!!!
Stage by stage comments
The unfortunate thing about the glitch is that most of the game up until it happens still resembles normal Minecraft, so there isn't much to say, because y'all know Minecraft and its gameplay loop. If you don't know Minecraft's gameplay loop, please read the name of the game until you do.
Mine
I punch some wood.
Craft
I make a crafting table.
Craft
aw heck i messed up i was supposed to mine again
Mine
(presses F5 twice) Welcome back to Craftmine, craftminers! (punches the air amiably) My name is Sarasam. (sneaks, punches the air) In today's episode, (moves back and forth, punching the air) I did some off-camera mining, and
reality breaks, myriad universes converge and collide, twisting and folding into each other
And that's how I defeated the 3DS Ender Dragon. (punches the air)

Title
Normal up until the bottom screen comes in, where the top screen is replaced by Java Edition footage. All game audio is from the 3DS video, the "3DS Narrator" joke was added by me using the same voice as Minecraft's actual text-to-speech narrator. Top and bottom screen footage were paused and cut to roughly match up with each other up until gameplay begins.
Vanilla Gameplay
Audio shifts to Java Edition from here on out. I had absolutely 0 plans going in so I just immediately jumped to playing normal Minecraft. Punch trees! Get wood! Make tools! The box at the top of the screen showing the block I'm looking at is a mod called Jade, which I added in as a joke because that's my name! It me!!!
The creeper death was just legit me not being good at this video game, and initially I was going to just rerecord all of the Java footage from the beginning before deciding it would be funnier to abruptly cut to me being alive as if nothing happened. Somehow there was another creeper there when I jumped back down which made the joke land a little better in my opinion since I survived that explosion. I wasn't aiming for the skeleton death but I came up with the idea of cutting to creative mode footage. It's storytelling. It conveys frustration. I'm a filmmaker, an artist, an auteur.
An abrupt cut back to survival mode quickly ends with another abrupt cut into a fully different version of Minecraft.
Modded Gameplay
Get owned, I just tricked y'all into watching my Minecraft Let's Play. This is just my legit All the Mons world that I've been playing on and off since that modpack launched, though I did have to make quite a few changes for it to line up with the vanilla footage: Inventory matching (that chest you see on the right after I drop in has my normal inventory and equipment in it), lining up the UI since I normally play with a smaller GUI scale, changing my brightness, adding a little stone chamber in that I could drop down from, etc. It doesn't line up PERFECTLY but it's good enough for me and my floor-level standards.
Because of the setup, everything here was scripted and took a few tries to get the timing down. Throwing out Absol was meant to just be a "wait what the hell" moment right after the initial shock of digging into an older modded version of the game. Looking in the AE2 inventory was my muscle memory failing me, I was originally supposed to pull the backpack out of it but I kept messing that part up so I changed it to just having the backpack already out in the world. It worked, and then I kept looking in the AE2 system anyway. The backpack being named "ALL OF MY ESCAPE KITS" is a reference to a bit by escape room YouTuber Kenadian and I'm sure the arrangement and colors of the shulker boxes don't mean anything. Happy two months early pride, though.
I originally planned on having the SMW ending playing inside the book (you can see me moving the cursor out of the way) but decided to put it on the bottom screen instead. Riveting insight!
Credits
For those that choose to stay and watch the SMW ending, there's a couple more bits thrown in there. The art was, obviously, MSPaint'd by me. Everything's off model because I did it from memory for some reason. It's probably funnier that way! I could've done more but I didn't feel like it. RIVETING INSIGHT!!!
The Ender Dragon GIF and Steve/Alex heads were taken from the Minecraft wiki. It probably would've been easier and looked better if I just edited SMW's end screen directly and faded it in over the video, but I wanted it to be slightly more aggravating and look worse. RIVETI-
Final thoughts
This is in every way related to the TAS and I apologize, but I need to vent out a bit of frustration. Damn, video editing is kind of a pain when you're new to it. Davinci Resolve isn't particularly friendly to me. I feel like it constantly misrepresents how the final product is going to look, leading to things like weird frame drops and lag getting in because they don't show up in editor but do in the final render. It's frustrating, especially when you put off a project until the final minute. Like I'm definitely a better editor than I was... I dunno, 10 years ago (it's not like anything I did 10 years ago can be seen since I deleted it out of shame), but it's still kind of an alien process to me. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Good news is that any of the actual sloppy editing can be passed off as a joke since there's intentionally sloppy editing for comedic effect! This is a teaching opportunity: If your entire brand is irony, then people will excuse actual lack of effort as just part of the brand.
Being stuck on free software is... I mean it's nice to have something decently powerful without having to pay for it, but there are definitely times where I wish I had the disposable income to shell out for something more powerful and maybe a little easier to use. This could just be all video editing software being horribly obtuse. You'd think it'd be easy to overlay text on a video, but no!!!
Also related to the TAS and I apologize again: Sometimes I feel pretty self-centered, in a bad way. Like, okay, recently I put out a "sequel" to an inside joke from 10 years ago that I'm not even sure anyone else remembers. I want it to be for the people that remember, but if no one but me remembers, then it's just for me isn't it? Sort of a way of trying to provide a definitive version for something that I really think I failed on, something I'm less likely to delete out of shame. It's still a bit cringe, I'll admit, but I think the internet is finally starting to shift towards the idea that everyone should just be their full cringe selves. Maybe this sequel will work on a new generation that definitely wasn't around on IRC 10+ years ago to see what prompted the inside joke. Like I think the overall joke still WORKS with no context, but the specifics of it that make it funnier are still locked behind that decade old conversation. Oh well. It's out there, people might be watching it, and hopefully they enjoy it for what it is.
This was more or less entirely for me, but hey. Love yourself. Feel free to think you're the funniest MFer this side of the internet. Anything to get through the day.
Again, I apologize for the related ranting. I've had a lot on my mind recently.

I dunno. This isn't even a working input file.
Samsara: I think I can improve this by petting my Absol for several minutes. Cancelling.
