Grimm’s Hollow is a video game inspired by a longing for a short and sweet RPG experience.
When Lavender woke up this morning, she wasn’t expecting to be surrounded by a crowd of over-excited, skull-masked strangers with cake and balloons. After all, it wasn’t her birthday; and this wasn’t her home.
She devises a plan to find her brother and escape from the outlandish townspeople of the Hollow - but is she prepared for the grave consequences?

Sync
- Before starting the game, you must disable "Prevent writing to disk" in Runtime... because, before the first boss fight in Cave 1, the game forces you to save your progress, if this option is enabled, the save file will not be created and the game will redirect you back to save the game.
- If you have reached the save game and the game was saved, you must delete the Save01.lsd file from the game files before reopening the TAS file to sync.
- Although I’m using the Steam version, turning on “Virtual Steam client” is not required because we’re launching the game in EasyRPG Player
Goal Choice
- I chose this category and ending because it’s popular among RTA players; of course, there is a true ending, but it’s a longer process
Notes
- This TAS has a few slowdowns that I couldn’t control, the first thing that stands out is Cave 1, because it forces us to save, we lose a few frames on the save, RTA has a save immediately, so you don’t need to save the game before entering the boss fight.
- There’s a strange bug in EasyRPG Player where the bar doesn’t load when the text showing which attack an enemy is about to use appears, which means I end up losing a bit of time on it.
Version
- In this TAS, I’m using the Chinese version because it has faster text than the other versions and is the official one, moreover, in Cave 3, this version doesn’t trigger the dialogues event due to an oversight
- To get this version, go to Settings -> General on Steam and change the language to Chinese, just in case, disable the Steam Clouds for this game as well
Upgrades
- In this game, there are SE items that can be obtained in various locations, maxing out every skill is required for the Good and True Endings, but we're interested in a different ending, in this case we’re more interested in damage and speed so we can defeat bosses more faster.
Cave 1
- Nothing much to say, we just dodge the enemies and head for the BOSS, collecting SE for upgrades along the way, of course
- I’ll do the middle first, then the rest to save time
Cave 2
- It gets even more interesting here, in this section, I use two game bugs along the way
- First, when I enter the trigger, I open the menu, this allows me to skip the trigger that starts the conversation, saving me a few seconds.
- The second bug is when I launch OoB, if I perform the jump down animation (other sides don't work) and open the menu, then the upgrades menu, the game enters a state where wall collisions don’t work, and I can’t enter fights or walk through doors, instead, I have to use Z to interact. This bug can be fixed by opening the menu, but in the next location I can’t use the same bug as with skipping conversations; I have to trigger this event to proceed further
- Thanks to further upgrades, I’m beating the boss faster
Cave 3
- Walking and skipping dialogues
- I’m losing the fight against the baker to reach the ending, I’ll lose the second fight no matter what I do
