A slow-paced hockey game from 1994, ends input very early and wins the game.

Game objectives

  • Emulator: BizHawk 2.11
  • Genre: Sports
  • Wins the game
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Manipulates luck
  • Ends input very early
I use the default teams to save time.
The 2nd controller can press start 2 frames earlier when starting the game. Look out for this timesave in old runs.
The intermission screen takes 1 minute to fade out without user input, so we can make one goal and end input early to win the game.
Input length during gameplay lasts about 1 second. I was not able to find a fast goal with the center player, so I pass the puck to another player. We can move the first player randomly during the pass to manipulate RNG, so that we don't lose the game.

Framecount

108 press start on 2nd controller
511 press start
769 puck drop
809 shoot
823 end input
This TAS was done manually. If you want to try to bot a faster solution, then the RAM address for the goal counter is here: 6B68

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: I have to say, this is more impressive than the Game Gear version. The optimization is to the point, even though you couldn't make the shot from center player. What I'm suprised at, is how rediculous the AI is. I can't believe it went the entire game and couldn't score against you, even when you are not trying! So this is a massive "Early Input" submission and I applaud you on this effort.
Accepting to "Standard".
