About the game
"Your goal is to get the ball to the other side of the screen. To do this, you must launch the ball so that it bounces off the blue walls and avoids the obstacles. But be careful! The ball cannot hit the red walls, or you will lose the ball!" (translated from). Well, this game was also only released for Tectoy consoles that came with a Flash NOR chip soldered to the motherboard, which contained multiple games (Acerte o Alvo being one of them).
How I started TASing it
Back in 2022, i wanted to do some Dr. Limpeza (another Tectoy consoles exclusive game) TASes, of course they would be as good as 11 years old me could do it but TASing nonetheless. Except when actually trying it i didnt find a ROM of the game, this happens because differently from other Tectoy games (like Férias Frustradas do Pica-Pau), those games were never released as cartridges and thus conventional dumping methods wouldnt work. Well, recently that thought cameback to me but with a different game (Acerte o Alvo), and now that 4 years have passed i could finally get my hands on a dump of the games.
Difficulty choice
About the run itself, the difficulty choice is kind of interesting. Differently from other games I TAS, like The Lion King, where difficulty changes only a thing two to make the game harder, here on Acerte o Alvo we get a completely different set levels depending on it. As the game is very short I decided to do all difficulties in a single TAS to play all 36 levels.
Techniques used
There isnt much to talk about here. We want to take the path as close to a straight line as possible and the faster your Y velocity is, slower your X velocity will be so we want to have as little as possible vertical momentum, though sometimes a more vertical option ends up being faster.
