A simple 2025 remake of Scorched Earth, the turn-based tank shooter.
This TAS wins one round as fast as possible.
After each round the game will generate another level ad infinitum, so we may as well end the game after winning once.

GAME OBJECTIVES

  • Emulator: BizHawk 2.11.1
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Manipulates RNG a little bit (random level generation)
  • Genre: turn-based-set-angle-and-power-shooter

Changing the angle wastes many frames, so we want to manipulate RNG to generate a level where we can shoot without changing the angle. This TAS waits 1 frame to manipulate RNG.
The next best result waited for 26 frames but was 1 frame slower in the end. The terrain generation was faster but did not lead to faster time overall. I tested waiting up to frame 3800 at which point gameplay begins after frame 3832, even with the fastest possible terrain generation.
