Pac-Man was first released in Japan for the Famicom in 1984 by Namco. Tengen localized the game for the NES in a licensed release in 1988, then without a Nintendo license a year later. Namco re-released it for the FDS in 1990 as a budget title, and brought it to the US officially in 1993. Each version has minor differences, see The Cutting Room Floor's page on the NES port.
Publications
Pac-Man features the cultural yellow dot icon in his classic maze game being chased by ghosts. This first overseas console release in 1988 was licensed by Nintendo and published by Tengen.
Watch as eien86 completes a full cycle of mazes by collecting all dots in the 20 mazes, while avoiding the ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky and of course Clyde in record time.
