Pokémon X and Y kicked off the 6th generation in the Pokémon franchise. Taking place in the star-shaped Kalos region, players get to experience 72 all-new Pokémon and the new "Fairy" type, the first generation to introduce a new type since the 2nd Gen.

They were also the first mainline games to feature full 3D graphics, free movement, orchestrated music, and to omit "Version" from their titles. As the first core Pokémon games for the Nintendo 3DS, they support glasses-free 3D during most battles.
