VR Troopers is a licensed fighting game for the Sega Genesis and Game Gear that's based on the Saban TV show of the same name. It features fighting game mechanics that are inspired by Mortal Kombat and implements them with questionable results. Most of the special moves require precise timing to execute and are often too slow, and the AI ranges from very easy to blatantly unfair. The premise involves the titular VR Troopers as they are sucked into a mysterious arcade cabinet and find themselves trapped in a virtual reality controlled by Grimlord. They must now defeat him and his Skugs one-on-one if they stand a chance at escaping.

In this run, alexheights1 chooses JB Reese for his powerful dive kick and beats the game on the Manic difficulty as fast as possible by exploiting the AI's quirks and preventing them for pulling off any cheap maneuvers. Nothing is done during the bonus rounds as doing that is faster than attacking any of the endlessly respawning enemies and scoring points.
