Alrighty, since I kicked so much ass at SMW, I thought I'd give Super Demo World a try too. The ownage continues. Times two! I'm surprised I can hold my fucking spoon when I eat breakfast, let alone play a video game at full speed. Holy lord.

When I'm not busy, maybe I will attempt a minimalist run of the game. I think I have a time of about 12 mintues. I remember having many errors. A full run of the game would be fun. I might do that as well.

I've decided I am going to work on a minimlaist speedrun for super mario world. i'm going to start practicing once I get a TV fixed. I think I can get 11:05 by TG rules or 10:51 SDA rules. I would think I can acheive this after watching an old TAS and scott kessler's run on SDA. I can see where improvement can be made easily with a little practice. Does 1 game unit = about .8 seconds?

It's like 42-43 frames we think. As far as I know we haven't timed it. So that would mean about 0.7 seconds. You should know that thegreginator and skamastaG are doing an 11 exit console run for this game already. Competition is fun though so good luck.

I put the game in the console for the first time in years last month and got a 96 exit time of just under 2:30. Made me somewhat of a legend on my dorm floor, even though it's definitely improvable.

Have they given up? I looked at the smw topic on sda and I guess they were aiming of a time of 10:51 as well. I'm going to test out some things on the game tommorow. I am going to examine some things first though.

Hmm. I'm going to watch the TAS and time certain things to determine how much time I should be able to save. EDIT: Is this game like smb1 and have the 21 frame rule type of setup? Do I have to get 1 game unit faster to save the 0.7 seconds in each level?

No nothing like that. Game units mean nothing other than numbers that console runners get hung up on.

Time yourself on each level with a stopwatch. Some people get too engrossed with gameunits and come up with strategies that are "faster," but only in terms of gameunits. Going through pipes comes to mind.

If wish it had been like that in smb1... I would have a time of 5:05 by now. thanks for the help. Hopefully I can complete this run soon. EDIT: The 21 frame rule stops my run from being faster than it should be some things and slower than it should be on other parts.
