So I take it that you need to bomb hover to skip the minuet? Also, to an earlier post, can someone help me with a good route in the Forest Temple if minibosses can be skipped in entirety? I think that the Temple can be done in ~8 minutes if done correctly. Maybe ~10.

Here's the basis of how the Minuet Skip works, sorry for my suckyness at the end I was using a keyboard, but basically from what I understand that Acrtye said, he says it only takes about 3-4 bomb hovers to get the right height and then you do a sidehop and clip the cutscene loading boundary and then fall into the void while the cutscene is still going. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=98F9C7146F7637C7

I know its a bit late, but it looks as if the cucco collection could have been a few seconds faster if you had given one or more cuccos a slash in the rear.

would it be possible to have a "point of reference" at the bottom of the forest temple in order to glitch into the boss room, if wireframe emulation was turned on? if so, it might be worth it for guano to switch video plugins just for that segment to something that can handle wireframes, and then switch back and hope that it syncs.

if there aren't any polygons in this room, neither are there any wires when using a different plugin. What about the ingame-map as a reference point? not accurate enough?

Without polygons wouldn't he just fall into the void? and he won't have the compass so the map won't be of any use.

I don't see the problem wth doing it, its more than possible to do with savestates, its whats TASing is all about.

there's a difference between the polygons used for physics calculations, and the polygons that are passed to the rendering engine. Unless the game decides to display those polygons (and it seems like it doesn't), wireframe or any other video plugin modification is useless. But feel free to try.

Well, most likely something will need to be done in Forest to achieve sub-2. This trick looks like it has potential, but that's way too much height to gain with bomb hovers...and the elevator smashing down on Link's head is problematic.

Not to mention that the boss door is still there.... I think AKA's idea is the most viable.

haha, if you superslide into the scene, and keep holding z&r, Link will not be in the cutscene unless you let go of the buttons. Then he just appears. EDIT: I dont know if the bomb hover to the cutscene and back to the beginning is faster. The cutscene is 1 minute and 30 seconds and I can get from the start to the cutscene in ~25 seconds and the bomb hover takes a good 30 seconds....Is it worth it? There has to be a corner or something we can clip to get into the void to avoid the bomb hover.

How many bombs does it take to hover into the boss room? Or why can't you use the acute angle glitch to travel into the boss room? If you could get the vine glitch to work would it be fast to get the bow then vine glitch to finish?

okay, so bomb hovering up into the void to get the cutscene is not going to happen. Problems with it: AKA, your video had levitating which made it a lot more easier than bomb hovering. When I try and bomb hover, Link doesnt get that much height for a backflip and when he tries to hover, he is just too close to the ground to stick in the air. Is wasting 3-5 bombs really worth the trouble? I would have to store a ground jump and waste another bomb after that. I dont know what to do and I do not want to go into the Forest Temple until it can be broken down. EDIT: Im pretty sure some enemies can drop some bombs for me if I time the kill. Im going to keep trying to hover, maybe I can get it. Just a theory: In the Forest Temple, can the boss key be obtained by bomb hovering to it after the twisty hallway?

Interesting, but you can't walk on ceilings so you'd have to clip through the chest...ahh who knows it could work.

Even if you could get inside the chest, there would be no boss key to obtain. Doesn't work however you put it, you need to untwist the corridor.

Has anyone actually tested to see what happens if you press A in front of an upside down chest? I mean, with bomb hovers you kinda are standing on a ground though it's not really there. It's a pretty unique case and i don't think the programmers ever had the slightest thought of this possibility. Or is it simply programmed so that it's just a texture put there to make it look like a chest? So that it doesn't really have any functions?

Its probably just something that looks like a chest, but without functioning like a chest. There would have been no reason for the programmers to keep the functionality of an upsidedown chest.

But It might have been easier to just get the functionality of the chest instead of removing it. Someone should test it, with a gameshark and a savestate, it should be easy to get there (there should be a way to go throught wall ?

Guano, can you please release a WIP when you reach the SFM (if you haven't already)?

Hmm, I tried hovering up to the chest, but I can't open it. perhaps I'm in the wrong place. Here's a screenshot. Maybe I need to get higher...
