It took about fifteen years, but I've defeated Smash TV. I have to say, it's a perfectly mediocre movie. I didn't annihilate the game effortlessly, and I didn't scrape by perpetually on my last life. I'm pretty impressed with myself, though. Cobra death AND the end guy without dying... I think. (And that thing I did at the end doesn't count.)

Honestly, the most ideal Panel game for TASing sounds like Crazy Hard mode of Pokémon Puzzle League's VS/Challenge mode. From what my friend tells me, it's more evil as the Intense difficulty from Pokémon Puzzle League (constant ×8 and ×9 chains), only without the benefit of the computer having a health bar.
Interesting. Maybe I'll give that a whirl if I ever get my hands on a computer that can actually emulate anything beyond SNES. :)

I made three recordings of Wonder Boy in Monster Land and they all shattered the SDA record ... unfortunately they all desynchronized quite early. Does anyone know an SMS emulator that can record movies other than FreezeSMS? As far as I know Gens+, MEKA, and Kega Fusion can't. I tried emulating it in VBA with DrSMS but it was too choppy.

PDP TASed would just be "input B-A-L-L at start, do small (7x, usually less) combos to fill up enemy playfield, win in five seconds" for every round (Acmlm was doing a TAS like this of the US version.) :/
Yeah, it occurred to me after I posted the suggestion. I think I might take a stab at the final round- nearly lose at first while setting up a massive combo, and then brutally savage the opponent. - Here's an (admittedly shabby) attempt at Tetris. My lust for Tetrises was my undoing.
and here's me beating you :P (tip: don't mash the start button endlessly at the start...)

Ack! Couldn't break 150,000. I may have to stop throwing the pieces anywhere in order to defeat you. :D

Out of nowhere I strike Filling evil hearts with fright Punishment goes where it is due... Oh, I'm coming for you! If your mind is not right Silent death awaits you in the night Justice Ninja will cut you down! Decided to get Ninja-kun - Ashura no Shou on a whim, and for the heck of it decided to make a quick run of one of my first times playing. It's amusing, but kinda challenging. ...is it just me, or does the protagonist look kinda like the Ninja from DDP/SMB2?

My high score of all time is over 470000, :) (It's still written in perma-marker and taped to my door, I was that proud of it years ago) I should try again, since my first game at over 180000 isn't too bad :) Yeah, as I figured, I'm just a bit rusty: This run plays both MODE-A and MODE-B. The auto-movement speed in this game is too slow. That's mostly the reason I always died around 190-x, not because I couldn't keep up. I just couldn't get the pieces far enough over.

Xkeeper plays SMB2 and actually beats the game The various undos were used at the end (I was experimenting with a really, really odd bug I encountered; look for it at the Wart battle, see if you can see it, hehe)

enough babbling, here's Super Metroid 99% in 1:59. Now I wonder if anyone will watch 2h40 of mediocre playing..
I enjoyed that... well, there's still 20 minutes left, but it's not bad. Super Metroid is one of those rare games that has so much ambiance that it takes awhile for it to sink in.

1 rerecord (eg using no savestates), 66 mins, 5.23 seconds Streets of Rage 2 beaten on "hardest mode", without using any continues, played in real-time. I was inspired to do this by SprintGod's TAS of the game. Like SprintGod, I also maxed-out the score counter :) Does anyone know what the non-TAS speed record for this game is? (preferably on 'hardest' mode)

True. Also, by Saturn's request, behold: one of my failed single-segment attempts. It's rather good in the beginning but starts to get progressively worse somewhere after the morphball. :D Up to the point where I forgot the sequence of keypresses responsible for activating horizontal shinespark. Enjoy the misery.

1. You handled the ostrosbirdos much better than I did. congratulations. 2. Nice mushroom death in 4-2. 3. Heh, when you died in 7-2 in a Bob-omb, I instinctively loaded a savestate. Bzzt, wrong. 4. I can't believe you didn't play with the mushroom blocks and ladders. It was always fun to destroy the ladders. 5. You lost the key! And you lost yourself, too, in the fortress. The key-holding os...do was killed nicely. 6: Your controller was acting weird during the end credits. Re: One odd bug. One of the weirdest ways to end this game was once somewhere in 1991 when I took the last vegetable, jumped to the roof (top of screen), and killed Wart from there. Wart died, and game ended. Not. Screen wouldn't scroll anymore, and Luigi was stuck on the top of the screen, unable to suicide, unable to enter the door. No chance but to reset the game :)

I was dancing to the music during the credits (although when the buttons start going crazy, it was to point out something in the credits most people might miss) And rest assured, I had played with the latters and blocks if I wasn't making a "public movie" :P I thought it would disinterest/bore people if I did. (Breaking ladders is remarkably fun, and once I managed to get a mushroom block stuck in mid-air...) --------------------- And here's SMB3 getting beaten (just barely). I'm honestly amazed I didn't Game Over, but that's mostly thanks to the multiple hidden 1-UPs throughout the levels. :P Suggested screenshot for this movie:

More tetris shenanigans (This is my 4th game. One of my earlier ones resulted in a really bad mistake and only 100000 points. Oh well.) I'm getting un-rusty :) My entire first half of this (pre-100 lines) was horrible.

Here's me playing Dragon View... hadn't played in a while so I got lost a bit but anyways, didn't want to go to the swamp cause I was trying to play without savestates (I save by instinct but I don't load them heh...) the one re-record is in the five cavern, where I die at the end I loaded but thought, oh well, screw it I died (tried leaving to go biu potions but didn't make it) stupid mistakes including buying a potion to use it in town when trying to pick up the bombs, having a whole lot of trouble vs Pierca (yeah yeah I know) and jumping into enemies at the end of the movie you should watch this, it's the best SNES game, you should try it! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3792/Dragon%20View%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.smv *edit : guess I should mention I usually play with a lot of savestates and I go power-level in the forest, get every item thats possible to get (even those near-impossible ones)

Well, I downloaded some random Naruto game & beat it... I decided to use re-records because I died about 200 times for pits =( Anyways, I left most boss fight deaths in it except Temari, who I was getting handled by Oh and an really "awesome" glitch happens about half way through the game... extreme graphic glitch... played the rest of the game that way lol =p ........ and now that I browse to upload it, the movie isn't there, even though I clearly remember recording =( oh well lol, you can imagine it ! P.S : xkeeper, I see you like heatman's stage =) Edit : Urgh, don't mind the minor retardation I had, I found the movie file... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3794/2334%20-%20Naruto%20Ninja%20Council%20%28U%29.vbm

Sweet. I was playing through this a couple weeks ago, but got stuck... and now I can see the ending without going through the unnecessary hassle of getting un-stuck. :D

I still can't get past about 125k. I did however beat TMNT. A collection of asinine blunders that somehow completes the game.

Haha JXQ, awesome nose dive into the pit! :-P I really must say, you have along with moozooh, such a big potential to make extremely funny movies for some reason. I would wish to see a complete Super Metroid playthrough of you some day. Maybe you can break moozoohs record for the most entertaining run there. :-) As for me, after a very long time I tried my first Super Battle playthrough in Super Street Fighter 2 on max. difficulty (8 Stars) again. Even though skill is terribly rusty, I managed to play through the entire Battle (12 Fights) with only 2 losses. Used 3 different characters in total to make some variety in the run. Only sucker FeiLong (maybe it's my fault :-P) lost very early, Balrog managed to win a good ammount of fights before his loss, and King Zangief stayed undefeated till the end! Even though you can't match the CPU's reactions in such fights in realtime, I used smart tricks all the time to confuse them and abuse their weak-points in the fights. Enjoy!

Arkanoid. I don't even feel it went that bad; I did reach level 4. How the hell are people supposed to beat all 36 levels? I'd say the game is a little too hard.

actually I don't finish the game (only goes to the fire cavern)but there's a bug when playing on Snes9X that you can't pass the dragon temple in the desert... you need to play on Zsnes for that heh =/ I might make a quick movie of the whole game sometime soon

sigh (Megaman3 coming soon.) Megaman 3. I'm actually better at Rockman 1 than I am at this game, and that makes me a sad panda.
