I have 2 different IRC clients, but evern since my EZ-Armor expired I have been having problems up the wazoo in connecting to any IRC channel, because it either says that EZ armor has blocked the connection (even though I had set it toaccept it, I would shut down EZ armor in the past to fix that but now it doesn't work) And currently it says that my connections get disrupted automatically because of the computer's host software, I think I may have uninstalled EZ-Armor because of the major headaches it was causing but I'm still getting problems connecting, anyono know what's wrong and how to fix?

For a temporary solution: I recommend you open up Task Manager (press Ctrl-Alt-Del assuming you are running Windows XP) then kill the EZ Armor processes one by one. These include Isafe.exe, Vetmsg.exe, CAVTray.exe, CAVRID.exe, and ca.exe. I think ca.exe is the only one that affects the firewall, but if your license has expired then I don't think there is harm in killing the antivirus stuff (although soon you should consider installing some antivirus software for safety's sake.) For a long-term solution: you should go to Add/Remove Programs in the control panel and make sure you have truly uninstalled eTrust EZ firewall. I am basing these suggestions on information I found here. If anyone has actually used these programs they can probably be more helpful. However, I think that perhaps no one else here has, so I figured it might not hurt to offer some ideas.

I probably should go buy new software; I don't have the time to try to fix these solutions, and the last time I started scrwing with my computer I was outta my league. I'll be sure to ask you again if I find the time to try it; in the meantime I sadly don't think you'll be seieng me on the IRC, sorry (even though I badly want to get on it now, especially with my 7 next TAS projects plan.)

Since I recognized that I can in fact connect at home, but not at campus, I'd like to take this link: http://wiki.freeculture.org/Ways_around_an_IRC_block and figure out which one can help me connect. first question: which ports besides 6667 does the #nesvideos IRC work with? more questions to come as I go through the methods until I successfully can log on.

Nope. 8001 not working, so I guess it's more than just port being blocked... probably going to try some proxy tunneling, I don't understand that stuff too much so I might get all confused in the process

back at college, and back to square one. I was given this website: http://ircatwork.com/ on the IRC a few days ago and I can connect to IRC through that server. the only problem? I can't quite join any channels. joining #nesvideos seems to create a new channel where I'm the only member. my other idea, of which my brother gave to me, is Torpark, a branch of Mozilla that uses ips and connects through different countries. so in essence, a proxy. would this work?

Did you change the server to irc.freenode.net?

Maybe "tor" could be of use? It's an anonymizing proxy. Latency is probably gonna suck, but that's not a big problem.

uh oh. "This account has been suspended. Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources." doesn't matter if I'm using Tor or not, I can't use IRCatwork.com anymore.

Maybe their bandwidth will get renewed next month? You could try a java client?

I meant for you to use tor to get onto freenode directly, not so that you could use a proxy to access a proxy, which is how I'm interpreting your previous connections to IRC through that web gateway.
