    Castlevania
    Alice
    Bloodrayne
    God of War
    Hitman
    Max Payne
    Postal
    RE4
    RE:Extinction
    Soul Calibur
    Spy Hunter
    Splinter Cell
    The Suffering
Which movie are YOU guys going to watch when they come out this year!? I'm going for Castlevania, maybe the two RE movies, and God of War. I'm worried about Soul Calibur because.. well, we all know how the DoA movie turned out. For those that ask themselves, "DoA movie...?", you're right! :P The FPS ones like Max Payne and Splinter Cell might be interesting too, but FPS movies tend to make me go :( like Doom ;-;

Neither of those games is FPS :P But I'm personally looking forward to the Hitman movie (I hope they use Queen's Hitman as the main theme ;) )

Postal, because it's directed by Uwe Boll. You can't go wrong with Uwe Boll. :D Also, Bloodrayne is already out for at least a year, also by fabulous mr. Boll. ;)

But not BloodRayne 2, which will have a MUCH hotter actress as Rayne. So I'm gonna see BloodRayne 2. Hell yeah.

it wasn't as trashy as the Street Fighter movie, and the fight scenes were good. With only 2 of the 4 main chicks being ugly they offer a far better quota than real life does, and that beach volleyball scene was 50% extremely hot. What, did you expect a plot? I guess I'll watch whichever RE movie comes out. Castlevania sounds fun as well. Max Payne.. I'll decide after watching a trailer. But actually, I'll wait for the dvd releases, because I like my movies english.

If done properly, Max Payne would make for a really good film adaptation; especially if they go with a film-noire look (and maybe only use the bullet-time gimmick once ... briefly). There's a good chance though, that they'll all be terrible :(

I didn't know they were making a Splinter Cell movie! I want to see that... although I admit it will probably suck. : (

No, they're all movies based off of video games. I knew that you knew that, but thanks for giving me the opportunity to increase my post count! : D

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh.... dont judge Soul Calibur with DOA. DOA is crap compare to Soul Calibur. Soul Calibur owns Doa, Tekken and Virtua Fighter with miles.

I have no faith in the video-game-based-movie genre. The adaptation process is unkind, as evidenced by every other attempt made thus far. Those pictures range from god-awful to mediocre-at-best, with the possible exception of the Street Fighter II anime. I can't say the process is fatally flawed, so maybe they can surprise us all someday, but they haven't gotten one right yet.

I wanted to see what Peter Jackson could have done with Halo, but now I guess we'll never know.

Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse was actually a mix of the plots behind RE2 and RE3. Raccoon City PD + Nemesis.

That's why I'm surprised that Meepers's list is so long... After all the junk we've gotten, I thought the studios had low faith too. (Oh yeah, I forgot to make my "Wasn't Van Helsing the Castlevania movie?" joke.) And where are my Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movies, huh? Anyway, I'm more interested in seeing if the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie turns out to be any good!

A lot of the problem comes from not following the game. That's why the moves turn out to be a flop and they lose lots of money (or gain practically nothing). Take Doom, a fairly "recent" movie-based-on-video-game movie. Original plot: A space marine is attacked by alien/hell forces while he's on a Mars base. How did it turn out? A chromosome 22 infection that changes people into superhuman freaks based on their personality (oh great.) so it means that: 1. There's no hell forces. 2. There was a reference to hell as they say, "It's hell up here" or something of the like but DAMMIT ITS NOT THE SAME T_T 3. It's another zombie movie. =( for the record.. hell forces > zombies + the Rock The FPS cinematics got a mediocre "meh" even though they promised way more than 5 minutes of FPS scenes. I think it was SUPPOSED to be 1/3rd of the movie. It's a new concept introduced in movies, so I guess maybe I should give it more leeway. That's how I feel about it anyway. Hollywood seems to think that by changing things to make it [in their mind] cooler, people will love it. Unfortunately, they don't realize that it's supposed to be based off a game, not something they thought of. So when movies come out based off video games and the people who PLAYED the video games go watch it, they're lost/confused because it doesn't follow the story. Example: Super Mario Bros: The Movie While I don't remember much about this movie, I know I got lost watching because it wasn't really Mario... nor did it really follow the storyline. And I don't remember a machine that makes people (or rather, koopas) smarter. Or for that matter, people used flamethrowers and those devo-guns or whatever they were called. At least there was Yoshi! He was cuuute. <3 As for Halo production, Halo is being picked up after they got funding from [none other than!] Microsoft. Production is unknown but that means the project will continue. They stopped because they didn't have enough "money", which I think is a cover because, well... who WOULDN'T want to make a move off this huge money-making game that so many people play? I'm still worried about Soul Calibur since I'm a huge fan of the game (Talim! Yaaayy ring-out punches ^^) and I think it would be an interesting concept since they'd take a new approach after realizing their mistakes from the Street Fighter series and MK2. MK1 was alright for me since it followed the story and I understood a lot of the stuff that was going on. ...well, except maybe why those henchmen don't mind being killed by Subzero.. that dude was weird. And kind of buff too. o_O Anyway, I'm going to be terribly upset if they mess up the character stories, or rather the characters themselves. I want a REAL asian girl playing an asian fighter this time dammit, not some half-breed European pretending to be Ayane/Kasumi. D= I'm hopeful on God of War since it was a good game. Alice seems like it could be good too, but Sarah Michelle Gellar as a twisted Alice that's armed with a butcher knife?? Oh well, 300 comes out in two weeks! Yay! ^^ P.S. Doesn't Splinter Cell and Max Payne allow you to cycle through camera modes (thus allowing First Person?) or no?

Max Payne doesn't allow that and Splinter Cell isn't even a shooter, it's a stealth action game (with some shooting). But yeah, I think you can aim from the first person view in SC. </offtopic>
