Somethings that woudl make it a fun TAS. 1. The bad translations 2. The enemies "happy" loss speech. 3. The sheer sadness. If it was TASed, it would be crazy.

What are you trying to do? Are you: Making a run on it? Making a request that someone do a run for it? Or Just talking about this game?

If it was TASed, it would be crazy. He is obviously making a request.

1.) It's a DS game. There's no properly working DS emulator that has been released yet, let alone one with rerecording and frame-advance. 2.) It's a Bootleg, so would not be accepted anyway.

If I wanted to watch an hour and a half of bad translations, I'd flip on the crazy channel that plays Korean movies in half Engrish. And what does "sheer sadness" mean?

It's NOT a DS game. it's GB game for sure. I have it for a long time. It's not a pokemon game really. Uses popular name though, and somewhat similar. not Game Freak-related. I asked once on IRC if it's a hack, and if it is then what game it originally was. Silence was the answer )

The sheer sadness is the entire game itself.

I really doubt it would make an interesting TAS.

Seconded. I was really confused when Diamond (and Pearl) came to DS. I thought "who the hell would/could do a remake of such a bad game". But then I realized they had absolutely nothing in common (except the name).
Which run should I encode next? :)

Why don't we just use the original version, Mobile Electric Beast Telefang? Preferably the Speed version as we want to go as fast as possible.

Still, IIRC, the bootleg was as interesting as biting my fingers off... and if the only difference between the original and bootleg are translations, the game would still be dull >_>;

How about I prove you wrong and make a test run for y'all? Then you can decide...

I thought I was working on too many games, with Crystal Quest, Pokemon Red and SMB2. I've lost track of how many games you're running, but I know it's at least 5.

I would love to see a run of this, but I've heard that somewhere well into the pirate version, there's a glitch that prevents you from proceeding any further. So you might wanna go with Telefang.

Maybe we should merge the other thread?
Telefang Power & Speed: A run of one of these games would probably serve best as a walkthrough for those who have no actual interest in playing the game but might want to see what it's about. On the other hand, the majority of viewers would probably be turned off by a game that is as long & slow as Pokemon, not very well-known, and entirely in Japanese.

I was tricked into playing this game too... It took me a while to figure out it wasn't real. If you want to see Engrish, watch the Metal Gear run. Of course, the only reason for doing the run is the terrible translation, as the game itself is too boring to do a real run with. Conclusion: I contributed nothing to the discussion.

Hello. I had gotten stuck on this run for a while, mainly due to not sure what to do at Liz island Mansion. However, due to new discoveries, I am motivated again. The discovery is how this glitch works. After getting stumped by it, I think I've finally figured how to cause it to work, thus skipping around 5 locations. The plan is this: 1. Tulunk Village 2. Kelina Village 3. Alice 4. Tliba Village 5. Fuwula Village 6. M-City Virgina 7. Palan 8. Liz Island 9. Ikusor's Forest 10. Kagutes Site 11. Mikeyes Lake 12. Bulian Site Note: Bansis Village and Babaluna Lake will be skipped. With the glitch, I hope to skip locations 6 - 8. I'm not sure if the game would let me continue, but I'll try. Nevermind, I can't skip locations 6 - 8 due to a certain boss not appearing if events were skipped. Also, I managed to do the following with the glitch: 1. Make NPC's disappear 2. Change NPC's into different NPC's 3. Warp to another position within the acre. 4. Crash the game 5. Get myself stuck due to result 3. WIP so far. It uses VBA-v24-alpha, in case anyone wants to know.

With better luck, lag management, and glitch abuse, I saved at least 2,000 frames from my 6th WIP by the time I enter the Kelina Village Dungeon. 7th WIP.

People! I present to you, the Modified NPC Glitch. Click here. With this powerful glitch, I managed to give my character the ability to walk-thru walls, but for only one room. Where should I use it? Edit: I think I know where to walk thru-walls. This run should feature only 3 places. 1. Tulunk Village 2. Fuwula Village 3. Bulian Site

Uh...Can anyone please help me find out what exactly triggers the game to glitch up like the post above? So far, I'm having some trouble repeating the above glitch. All it seems to happen is: 1. NPC's dissappear 2. NPC's change into something else 3. NPC's become invisible 4. I get stuck 5. Nothing happens 6. A combination of the above happens. It would be very nice if someone can help.

Finally! I did it! Even though it was incredibly hard to do, I managed it! WIP Btw, did anyone who watched the WIP liked the stuff I did while waiting for the glitch to work? Edit: The Glitches: NPC Glitch and CFT (Controlled Forced Teleport) Basically, on the 6th frame the phone rings, once the map is opened, the game glitches and the following occurs: 1. NPC's dissappear (Cannot interact) 2. NPC's transform 3. Forced Teleport to last posistion you opened map 4. Forced Teleport to last position you battled 5. Game Crash 6. Nothing 7. NPC's become invisible (Can interact) 8. Game badly glitches 9. A combination of the above My original plan was to get result 8, force the game to take me to Bulian Site as I walk to another acre of the map, and get to the boss that way. Unfortuanately, that type of glitching was only accomplished once by sheer luck, and is incredibily difficult to do. So, I've changed my plan, and instead made the game to force teleport me to a door, where I would trick the game into thinking I was indoors, but actually outdoors. I simply walked to another acre, and the game forcefully warped me to another exit at Fuwula Village, assend the mountain, repeat the glitch at the antenna tree up top, and finally walk all the way to Bulian site. If someone could help me repeat the glitch I did in this post, it would be quite appreciated.

Anyone interested in helping me find out more about this glitch? I have trouble repeating it, so if anyone discovers the cause of this, it'll be much appreicated. Youtube'd

Ok, I got a reply from Blaziken257, who wrote:

Wow, this glitch is tough for me to understand. I've tried to stop the TAS before it's supposed to end by moving Shigeki in different spots (or not moving him at all) and I get different results every time (usually the sprites glitch and I can't move). I've also replayed that part of the TAS many times, trying to look at RAM addresses C903 (which is the current map, Data Crystal has a list) and C906 (which is the current coordinate on the map), and the only thing I noticed was that when you warped, C906 changed to 00, which made it the topmost, leftmost coordinate (0,0) in the lower-right quadrant of the overworld. C903 remained at 05, which is the lower-right quadrant of the overworld. This is odd, because the textbox with your money, as well as the ding sound made it sound like you were in a mart, but you really aren't due to that RAM address. And as for why the textbox/dinging only occurs in that spot, I have no idea. I would try to look at the disassembler, but VBA's disassembler isn't as helpful as BGB's, and I don't think you can make TASes on BGB at all. I don't know why the warping behaves differently in different acres, as I don't know what makes the doors different (unless it has something to do with the position of them on the map or something? I'm not sure. Maybe I'll look into that later by hacking the tiles a bit.) Finally, another thing that I found weird was the text はいってくだ in one of the glitched textboxes. I didn't recognize this text, but I searched for the string on this page: http://wikifang.meowcorp.us/wiki/Wikifang:Telefang_1_Translation_Patch/Text_dump/12C000 and it seems that it's part of the dialogue where someone gives you that password to open that door. Very weird. I'm just as confused as you are, honestly. Sorry.
