I finally made a music video! Footage from my Chrono Trigger run mixed to the song Cells by The Servant. The video showcases ~10 seconds of footage from each of the 20 boss fights in the game. The first 44 seconds is filler up till the song gets good and then the fights begin. I uploaded it to youtube, check it out here. Tell me what you think, this is the first time I have ever used video editing software.

Im working on one for the whole classic mega man series (except 8) set to the title screen remix from rockman 3. It was a remix on www.vgmusic.com but i used modplug tracker to give it better instrumentation, mixed with project X's remix, mixed with another midi. Yay me for nice editing!

Hey guys sorry for the double post but I was afraid no one would look, what program are you using I was trying to use Windows Movie Maker but it keeps freezing up on me. [edit] I got it to work, and actually i changed so that the music will be a module i made from a midid with good instrumentation, and project x's version will not be included.

I make music videos for a semi-living/hobby, so if anyone wants an action one made, i can do it easy for sure, i'm good with audio timing/synching by far :P if you want to see a hobby video I made of an anime (prince of tennis) for an example, having to use material that someone else has already made (i.e. stuff i didn't film since it's an anime), check it out here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCMJ0KjXP60 and if you wanna see the first music video i ever made, a real life one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBmkKSiR5EA

I don't think anyone would mind if you made a TAS music video in that style. :) All the material is already here for you to download.

I think a best-of video would be nice, suggestions for good parts are in this topic: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3718 Also you can check the rating to see which movies have the highest entertainment ratings. Also, don't forget to put clear disclaimers that the games are played with slowdown and savestates, and a link to WhyAndHow.html here.

I think I'll make a video of the Mega Man X Series... It will not be an X song... but a song I think fits well...
I'll get you for this! (for what I don't know... but I'll do it anyway!)

HAHA!! Hero is a Bomfunk MC's fan? The song is one of my favourites as well. Called "Freestyler". Weeks on the Nr.1 in our Music charts at VIVA and MTV back then. :-) To be honest, this song was very close to be used in my 1st RBO teaser. But then I picked "Something Going On" nevertheless.

Hero, great tune, i love jungle D&B. Although there was to much elevator in this movie.

The song seems to fit the game very well. Like you said Saturn, it would have been perfect for your teaser, except that the song is much longer than the video itself. I will make another video using the same song when I finish my v2 any% run. I agree with you jaysmad, there was too much elevator time. When I make a new video, it will have all item/elevator scenes removed.

Good choice. Wanted to note that as well, but forgot while making the last post. :-) Also choose only the most exciting parts of the run to make the music vid as entertaining as possible. And I don't think the song have to match with the length of the video. Just make sure it gets cancelled well and not in the middle of a text the singer is singing (if there is one), if you have to cancel it earlier at least.

Hope JXQ wont mind but I gave it a try with his 100% SM run. It was my first try so it is far from perfect. I have put too much of the beginning and not enough of the end. Next time i will try to be more various... Maybe try mixing games. I tried putting input without success but i guess i just need to learn more about VirtualDub. Anyways, I had much fun doing this and plan on trying it some more. Oh! It did take quite some time ;) Hope you enjoy it :] Edit: I just watched your movie again hero and i must admit that it is much better than my attempt. I wonder how you do screen fade outs and all that shizz!?!

jaysmad: I use windows movie maker, which is free to download if you use windows. It is pretty user friendly and comes with a ton of different fade outs.

It would open in clips so i just clicked the open in clips box when opening my file and it works. Btw, it looks pretty nice, thanks :) Edit2: Forget what i said about opening in clips. Turns out i had a virus :P

Hey Hero (or anyone who would know) !?! I got rid of my damn virus but the Windows Movie Maker keeps on closing up, for nothing. When i get it to work a little, I have FFDShow and it keeps popping in my toolbar, i don't know if this can be of any help. Any idea on whats up?

Jaysmad, I had almost the exact same problem. If it is the same thing I experienced, here is how to fix it. Right click on desktop Click on properties Go to the setting tab Click on advanced Click on the troubleshoot tab Lower the hardware acceleration from Full to closer to None

I use and recommend Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. You can download the 30-day trial at http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/premiere/win/2.x/PremierePro2_0_Tryout.zip I made one already, but I didn't really like it. I was making another one, but I had to format the hd and lost it.
