Just a typo there, I still have pronounced it like that in my head. Kyrs sounds somewhat like cris, and the imys sounds like imiss.... so crisimiss, Christmas... you can't tell me those don't sound similar.

and that "r" should be an alveolar trill like in Scottish English, not the approximant like in American English.
(This is the only right way to pronounce it :P)
And I think trilled Rs are silly and hard for me to say.

Russian language seems to be extremelly usefun when explaining pronunciation... I can't explain mine in english at all, but they all sound a bit rissificated when I pronounce them like FCEU is just "FCEU"(фцэу) for me, transliteration. OoT is O-O-T. VBA is like ve-be-are(вэбэа), SMW is es-em-ve (эсэмвэ), snes9x has russian "devyat'" (девять, nine) inside `^^ I always found soch things funny, especially game names in video reviews, like "The Elder Scrolls IV" read as "the elder scrolls chetyre" :D

I often annoy my sister by speaking almost entirely in abbreviations (not like Ess-En-Ee-Ess but SNES, for example).

I always sound out the letters in acronyms and I think it's odd when people do otherwise, excepting those rare cases when the acronym becomes an established dictionary word, like "radar" or "laser."
Out of curiosity, does everyone know how to pronounce my nickname? The pun should be a big hint. Growing up my name was constantly mispronounced, much to my chagrin.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a German-speaking community in America but here of course everyone can pronounce that correctly. (I say "here" even though I live elsewhere now...)

Bisqwit is correct, the 'r' sound is not supposed to be an approximant but a trill (like every 'r' in Finnish) and the 'y' sound simply does not exist in English. I can see how English-speakers might pronounce my name as "christmas" because there really is no other sensible way to quickly pronounce it in English. In Finnish the name is quite easy and straightforward to pronounce.
