Except that the game isn't completable, as it goes on forever. :p I guess the closest thing to beating the game would be stopping at the point where the hardest levels start looping... ...Then again, 2 players might be able to make an interesting competition. Perhaps have them constantly trying to foil each others' plans, dying once in a while, but keeping it relatively neck-and-neck...then orchestrate things so that they both lose their last life at the same time on the last enemy of the last level, or something. XD

I kind of like 4matsy's idea there. I would vote yes if the movie was entertaining enough. However, I would want it to be published only as a concept/demo video.

In Mario Bros, can 1 player pick up the other one? That could make for interesting moves. I've had interesting battles with that with 2 linked Super Mario Advance games.

You can't pick anything in MB/SMB. The only thing you can do is bumping player 2 just as any other enemy by punching the platform they're standing on.

I'm going to cancel making a TAS of this game, cuz it is kind of lame and I can find only one glitch in that game and that's the "jumping through floors" glitch and that still probably wouldn't be entertaining to watch. But, I'm not completely giving up all hope, if anybody can find any new glitches or tricks that would make it fun to TAS and watch, please let me know.

Link to video I'd be interested in TASing/watching a TAS of this game. It seems like an interesting game to try and optimize and find routes. The TAS I made of the first "Test Your Skill" level took 689 rerecords. I'm pretty sure however that it is optimal. I should've used RAM watch though because it wouldn't taken as many rerecords (addresses like speed and coordinates). But I ended up just figuring out how the game worked so I don't think you could improve it, but please prove me wrong. :)

Under the PAL version I did this with 2 players: -Video Deleted- Don't mind the video I was checking something so I can now validate that NTSC is preferred as it has less phases. I'm working on 2 player for the NTSC version at the moment. The values are universal between both versions. Edit: Hellooooooooooo

Don't they both have 99 phases? Or maybe I misunderstand. EDIT: Oh yeah with 2 players the Test Your Skill could definitely be improved. But I think there should be a "1 player" and "2 player" branch. BTW does anyone know the difference between game A and game B?

-Video Deleted- Possible improvements: Maybe Phase 3 Buddybenj do you want to team up and do this? I won't drop this, I'm going to the point where the phases reset.

For what it's worth Spike, I find your WIP entertaining and would like you to finish it and submit it with or without someone.

I was planning to do 6 to 10 as the next update but something popped up in 8... which I don't like. Phase 6 to 8: -Video Deleted- When I hit phase 13 (WIP #3) I will release the first download. To Note: If both characters lose a life in a phase there will be less enemies in total spawning in that phase so this TAS will not be doing any time-saving deaths.

Looks great.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I think there is a glitch in this game where you can jump through floors by pausing. Try it

Sure. I'd love to. I'd also like to see a one player TAS (if you can't get enough of Mario Bros. after TASing 2 player (any%) :P).

If anyone is curious on how I am actually TASing this, it's a timelapse of TASing Phase 15. -Video Deleted- Total Time: 45 Minutes. I believe the next update will be at the end of Phase 18. Delay is due to uni and doing work for it, that is all.

Heh, that's the most accurate usage of the term "WIP" I've ever seen.

Phase 14 to 18: -Video Deleted- Mario is now close to Luigi in terms of points.

Those combo kills look really cool, especially the one at the end of Phase 14.

YouTube FPS is 30 the game is 60, the sprites actually flicker to try and save more memory. That's why you see 3/4 of an enemy. Phase 19 to 23: -Video Deleted- Yea, I didn't abandon this. I just... I just... vanishes
