Hehe, yes indeedy. The story of this game is actually pretty neat, too bad you won't get to see any of it in the video. =/ Just finished level 9, 3-second improvement w00t w00t! Under 13:00 just *might* be within my grasp yet... -Josh

The story is excellent. Also one of the first games to have a story that evolves every level. Good thing I played this game myself, and made save states every level. I actually wanted to do a time attack on this, but I don't have the time or patience.

Level 10 completed, with a 1-second improvement just like the first stage. This means I'll have to improve the last level by 4 seconds to get under 13:00...I'll go ahead and give it a try right now. -Josh

OK, as I said earlier, I'm improving this. Turns out this game does have a couple useful bugs after all... Just finished level 3 now. Level 1 is 13 frames faster, level 2 87 frames faster, and level 3 69 frames better (no jokes please =P). So that 13:03 should drop to well under 13 when all's said and done. =) -Josh

Hey all...I'm not really interested in making any more movies for the time being. So with that, I will reveal what I have found to improve in this game in case anyone wants to try it. First of all, I didn't use frame advance for my previous movie. Minor improvements are possible on all bosses if you take advantage of it, most notably in level 3 and the driving stages. Minor bug: Say you're running under a platform/ledge/wall/etc. that ends at some point. If you jump so that the back of your sprite touches the end of the ledge, you'll get pushed forward a little bit. This saves a few frames but can be applied in a lot of places. More important bug: If you jump toward a ladder and press B exactly 3 frames (well, either 2 or 3, I forget which) before you grab it, you'll slide down the ladder at normal falling speed. This saves quite a bit of time in quite a few places. That's about it. Under 13 minutes is easily possible, I'd say around 12:55 or something like that would be optimal. -Josh

Hello Hisatoki, I was looking through your Youtube videos and stumbled upon this. Excellent job! =) However, there are some small improvements I can spot. Here they are: 1. If there is a platform/corridor right above you, jump as you reach the end of it and you will receive a minor speed boost. This can be used in levels 2 and 3, and I think you missed it in 3. 2. At the very end of level 3, you fell down the ledge instead of jumping. Jumping should be possible IIRC. 3. The biggest one: The flame your car shoots while shifting gears can damage enemies! This saves a chunk of time against the level 10 boss, as you can hit him even while he's at the bottom of the screen. If you can create an updated version with these corrections, it would make a great replacement for my crappy run of this game on here! Thanks, Josh.

I did not notice them at all. Especially, I did not have even that conception in Level 10, about boost fire. To tell the truth, I was asked by my friend to play and record the movie of this game. So I didn't put spirit into this, and there are a few parts that can be improved in 5-1, 6-2 ...and other ideas to run faster might exist. In Japan, "Kings Knight" and "Square no Tom Sawyer" are called "too bad game" and "blot of Square". I think so, too. These games gave me stress. Especially "Square no Tom Sawyer", that genre is RPG. The enemy of this game uses a special attack, its effect is "Game Reset". If you take this attack, you will see the title screen...that's too terrible attack. Square is a great game producer in various meanings...

Due to some looking at the site rules, I have swithed to the U version. Stages 1 & 2 This run is 109 frames faster than the current published run.

Nice going Sonikkustar! Looks good so far! I think you made Stage 1 pretty entertaining, and opening up the first room of Stage 2 with the grenade looked like it cut lag. By the way, if you didn't know, Hisatoki has an improvement to Funk DOC's TAS on Youtube. Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Nice job again! At this rate, you're going to handily beat Hisatoki's run too. I especially liked how you handled lag in the first part of the stage, and I think I saw a zip in a ceiling block too. As for the boss fight, it did seem a little laggy even before he did the flames attack. The fight still looked good, though... he was out of your reach less than he was for Funk DOC.
